[QUOTE BY= TobinMueller] Paul - would you like a button that automatically kept your song from appearing in the New Songs window? A Do Not Display in New Songs Window button?
Also, if we included more buttons in the Keyword Chart, like a "GB only" button, would that help you? Take a look at the chart and see if you would like more. Yeah, that works! A checkbox, "Do Not Display In New Songs" would be fine.

I had a thought about our personal profile pages and song listings. How about posting a red bullet or maybe the MACJAMS guitar icon by our tunes when a new commment or reply gets posted by a listener. I'm sure we all tend to 'nurse' our tunes so I figured this might be a good way to notify us (and others) about a posted reply to a particular tune or tunes. Personally, I have a tough time remembering whether the total number of replies are the same or if a new one was added. You know, maybe something like this.-> ('

I think pop up Help Screens would be instructive. The screens could explain how to sign up, point out where to find things, how to navigate and add to the site. Specialty Help Screens could explain music categories, voting criteria, etc. Maybe a Help listing should be on the main menu, it could replace FAQ and Legal and a couple other links if these links were in the new Help Screen.
Also, I'd like to be able to search membership lists, sort them, etc., by name, location, expertise, interests, and any other info that fits or is compiled. I've also noticed that many members are collaborating on each others songs. It seems strange that a song with an initial designated composer would appear under someone else's profile, even though that person only added a guitar solo or something. It just seems like a song should be listed under one person so that the chain of adding on would be easier to follow. Maybe the original author could identify people who worked on his or her song (or newest versions) and that those people could be entered by that person as contributers and that that song would then appear in the contributers' profile pages under Collaborations by Name, but not under Jams by Name. What do you think? |

OK, there are a couple points I made in another thread that I think bear repeating. The original post is here.
1. If nothing else, to slow the "bombers" down, require a comment if one of the votes was under 5, with an option to be anonymous, but any of those would have the votes cast displayed with the comment. 2. Replacing the numbers on the voting menus and song pages w/ descriptive text. (see original post for chart). -- AKA Kaklick Martin in Second Life |

Lately, I've been getting some votes on some of my older tunes. Because these votes come without any comments AND I don't have a photographic memory, I can't figure out if my score went up or down... So... is it possible to maybe color code our scores for our own songs? When we log in... the scores are say red when the trend is down, blue when the trend is up and black when there's been no change??

I agree with you Giovanni,
Its hard to go back through tracks to see if comments have been made. I like to reply to some comments on my track and I know many others do. Im all for some sort of notification when someone comments on a track. I would also like to be able to search a membership list. I was looking for 'Maestro' the other day and it took me ages to find his tracks... SlimGirlFat "Cleverly Disguised as a Responsible adult." |

Well I'm such a newbie here, and a confused one at that. Is there a way to see ones own comments? After giving my musical smörgasbord (macjams) a daily run-through, i sometimes stumble back to a song that i previously made a comment to, only to find a comment to my comment. I'd like a link where i could revisit all my previous comments...

It'd be nice to have a link on the main heading dedicated to "Problems Solved". Where issue like GB not showing loops, 44.1khz, M-Audio product x needs this or that, Behringer gadget recognition, etc. are stored for quick reference. So, a resource where we could quickly pass a link to someone if they have questions that may be continuously asked.
