In GB'08 you can use the Visual EQ and check off the Visualizer box and it will show the effect of the EQ on the track. You can't adjust the EQ on the fly, though and have the EQ adjustments applied to the track unless you turn on automation and write the automation points for the Visual EQ. Turn on track automation and use the visualization to set automation points for the adjustment of different EQ parameters.
