Searchbox access to things deleted..
Tuesday, May 29 2012 @ 08:02 PM CDT

A friend of mine was searching me out...using the searchbox function (as a visitor)
no-less, was able to access everything I ever posted...everything I deleted and disabled was available to play and download...what is up with this?

I just put TvRicky in and most of my pieces are available and playable even though I have deleted all of them. Can someone explain this?

Using "TvRicky" as the search term in the searchbox next to the [More] button did yield a Google search results list for all of TVR's songs.
However, clicking on one of the songs where TVR is the author yielded a "This song does not exist page" (unplayable)

Using the search box underneath the genre box on the music page with the same search term only yielded the song "Be Bop TvRicky" by Philip18.

Deleting or disabling a song does not mean that a moderately determined visitor can't get to that song - it's in the Google cache.

If the admin here read the Google guidelines you can learn how to put directives in your code that prevent Google from putting your pages and files in a cache. It seems like a good move to ensure everyone gets the current version of the site.

Ancient Chinese proverb:
The man who does not make mistakes usually does not make anything.
