Description:
This is the song that drew the most praise from our recording last year. I'm posting it for Tobin. Like Jackie Jones, this is best played through the nicest amp and biggest speakers you can find.

Also here's another picture of Ben.

Lyrics:
Need some work but almost there

Hardware:
As always G4 and G5 Powermacs

Software:
GarageBand (still v.1) and Nuendo.

Great feel and atmosphere to this one. I agree that the
lyrics aren't its strong suit but they didn't bother me
either. Perhaps there's some potential to expand the
secret smile angle. Maybe it's just as simple as something
like changing "Sometimes I wonder, what you're doin'
now" to "Sometimes I wonder, where you are now." Minor
points though. Enjoyed it.

Sometimes it's nice &mdash 05/14/05 - 08:45:27 AM
to just listen to a song for enjoyment and pleasure
without giving thoughts to criticism. This is one of those
times and one of those songs.

Reluctant to listen to this &mdash 05/14/05 - 07:04:34 PM
because you don't participate in the site. Who is Ben? Who are the supernauts?

I can see your point but I was asked to post this by Tobin Mueller. Supernauts
are a growing Indie/Rock band from West Wales, all details are on the website
www.supernauts.co.uk news/biog/pics/forum etc.

No problem. People come to this site for different reasons. Thanks for the
explanation.

radio ready &mdash 05/15/05 - 07:06:35 AM
excellent. love the driving rhythm guitars. the space between the vocals could use a woodwind solo or something, or a fiddle, something to make the lines rise more. but an excellent, radio ready tune. you guys are boss.

Excellent, with spaces &mdash 05/16/05 - 09:44:12 AM
Such a great groove. Love the use of DMB-style rhythm
acoustic. When your vocals truly kick in, you have a great
sound, so compelling. You building up to the string
section instrumental thing and I expect a truly big
harmony-laden chorus, but there isn't even a solo
instrument over the section, which surprises me; consider
putting an additional vocal section that fills this emotional
promise. And yet, the space it affords me to think, to
daydream before the vocals return is nice. Excellent
production and performances. I like how the drums or
right there, driving the thing, well placed. Everything is
very smooth and pro, very well done.

This is great. &mdash 05/16/05 - 02:20:56 PM
I don't really have much to say. I guess that's a sign that
this is really easy to listen to! I really like all aspects of
this tune- vocals, lyrics, chord progressions, and combo
of instruments. Great great great!

pleasant &mdash 05/17/05 - 09:34:49 AM
it is not usual for me to listen this variety of "genre",
however i do enjoy the song ... the wonderful aspect of
macjams is increasing musical horizons ... this piece
appears to be well put-together ... there is much occuring
and somehow you balance it all ... this is very strange, but
my heart is missing something here ... everything sounds
good, but there is non-definable "something" which is not
here ... sorry i can not say better ... one last thing, i truly
enjoy the way you accomplish the string sound ... very
realistic ...

Nobody does good strings in alternative &mdash 05/17/05 - 11:54:53 AM
anymore. I liked this. Not terribly derivitive (a wonderful
thing) although it fits firmly in genre. Thanks for sharing!

lyrics &mdash 05/18/05 - 03:18:32 PM
"You knock me down with your simple smile" is a great line, and you deliver it well. Even through you are still working on the lyrics, I think you should post them here with the music.

Forgot I was listening to MacJams... &mdash 05/18/05 - 05:37:42 PM
Great tune. Has such a Travis feel to it. Production is top
notch... thought the drums started a bit harsh, but they
mixed in well.

Curious to know what was done in GB and what in
Nuendo.
