Description:
collaboration with mandolinquent and rebsie
johnny plays squeezebox, midi percussion and midi vibraphone. billy plays mandolin. rebsie plays harp. everybody sings . . . backing vocals by billy's daughter.
lyrics by country john and mandolinquent.
Lyrics:
billy used to play his guitar in the bath;
his mother said:
"you know you're gonna shrink that thing !"
billy said:
"ma' don't you be no square . . .
. . . 'cos you know how much i love to sing !"
but billy's mum was right 'cos thirty years later . . . he's ended up with a mandolin !
when johnny was a boy . . being a policeman
was his one and only goal;
but a love of drugs;
and a fear of thugs;
meant this career got parole !

and an attention deficit . . .
pointed to a life upon the dole !
well billy wrote a book
and he made his fortune;

johnny found a chest of buried treasure;
and bought a farm in the country . . .

Such a lovely, drunken sound. So very bright and slurred. I
love the sound created by the squeezbox/mandolin/
vibraphone/harp/percussion. Excellent job all around.

When I started to listen to this song, I just loved the intro,
un-synchronized and was hoping this wasn't just an intro
but that the song was actually going to continue in the same
craziness. It did! This is such a refreshing tune on macjams,
the lyrics are great, the vocals awesome, this madhouse is a
clear download! For some reason I think Billy Connoly when
listening to this, don't know exactly why?

I really liked it. I only had one problem, it was just that it sounded a bit messy in certain parts. But that could probobly be fixed. Lyrics were great and overall it was a great song. [ Reply to This ]

. . . and we all listened to it so many times . . .
i was singing it in a loop in my head for about 48 hrs non stop !
so i think we're all glad it's over with : )
