Another keeper
Interesting rhyming pattern and vocal phrasing in the
verse. Cool Kotke vibe going on there with the way the
vocals play off the music. And did I detect just the faintest
hint of a Lightfoot influence?

Solid, classic, honest
So honest and well stated. Great playing, recording;
intimate and true. A few times, you add a beat to a
measure ("she doesn’t get back to", "Can’t seem to get it
away" ) to fit in your lyrics. Solid, classic writing.
Wonderful track. I love your voice. Such great folksinger-
songwriters on this site!

Honest and true are the words...
This is a very nice song... very rich and honest indeed. I
hesitate to make the comparison, but it sounds a great
deal like Jonny Cash, except, you have more control of
your vocals. It may just be that he's on my mind, because
I'm working on a collaboration with him. (I know, he's
dead, but I am resurecting him just for this one song.

Congradulations! This is very nice work. cydniko

Johnny Cash, that is interesting. I threw a tape on stage once and he picked it up
and walked off with it. Never heard from him but it was a thrill to see him walk
off the stage with my tape in his hands.
Of course that all happened when he was alive.

Singing chops
get better and better! Great guitar as usual. I do agree
with Cydniko, you do have a Johnny Cash thing going.
Your singing phrasing is very good on this one,
compliments your deep voice very well. Thanks.

Heartfelt lyrics cool progression
I like that 1 6m 4 chord progression. I have used that on
several songs myself. I won't compare your singing to
anyone else as you have your own unique voice which is
good as you are easily recognized. Good lyrics in a
heartfelt song. You convey emotion well, whether through
you guitar, lyrics or voice.

To: notsosweet

I was inspired by Gorden Lightfoot. My score is not so good on this, not sure
exactly why. But maybe I should make it more technical, having more overlays.

Thanks so much notsosweet.
