Description
Ah, a long short story. Growing up I hated piano and all that I perceived that came along with it. It wasn't cool to play piano or sing in a choir. I said I'd NEVER play that instrument. Well, the jokes on me as not only do I love piano but my occupation as a piano technician is icing on the cake.

This song is entitle Jazz Praise because I'm forever thankful the Lord gave this desire and ablility to play...for bringing me to such a new place. I wrote the piano lead about 8 months after beginning piano and had it sitting around. I decided to create an orchestration for it and jacked up the tempo to 165...so it would swing.

nice piano sound
you achieve very nice piano sound on this ... rich and full
... maybe too much sustain at times? ... is good in middle
when fast notes are shorter ... drums and bass lag behind
piano on occasion ... this piece is mostly chords ... no real
melody or theme ... except at very, very end ... you might
try those closing notes as main theme throughout piece ...
which would be good! ... nice sounding piece even with
these little "nats" (or is it "nits"? darn my bad english!) ...

swingin piano...
Is that like caber tossing? Lots of fun energy, I can feel
the joy in this, very enjoyable to listen to! The only
(slight) nit pick is there are a couple places where the bass
sounds very slightly ahead of everyone else, but he was
probably caught up in the enthusiasm too :-) Awesome
live piano performance, great songwriting and arranging
too! Faved/DLed/Voted 8-8-8-8! Thanks for overcoming
that piano block, and pulling out all the stops on this one
(sorry for the organ mixed-metaphor :-)

Brilliant playing
This is lovely. And I speak as someone who grew up
with a dad who played jazz piano, hating every note
of it ... only to find out what a blessing it was after I'd
grown up.

Absolutely beautiful and first rate, Synco.

Piano Man
I think StarFlower has some valid points, but still, it is a very
nice, fun piece. I wish I could play the keys even half as
good as you. As a nitpick, I think you could play with more
expression in the timing in places, a little less rigidly, with
more flex and swing in the ryhthm. I know you've been
practicing a lot lately, and it certainly is paying off from the
last couple of piano tracks I've heard from you. Much
enjoyed.

Hey!
This sounds great... you know I can't critique your playing
since I can't play a note of piano myself. Really though, I
liked the way this flowed- nice jazzy groove and very
enjoyable to listen to. Ask my toes... they are still tapping.

Blown Away
Wow, I love it! Lots of piano players on this site but this is
definitely one of the most enjoyable tunes I have heard.
And you were actually playing drums and bass too? Man
look out. Lot of talent there. I did like the heavy sustain
which gave it a powerful rumble that sounded good to my
ears. And the melody just keeps coming. Like you I came
to piano late. Not to play unfortunately but to listen and
enjoy. Love swing, torch songs, Mose Allison. Great stuff.

Very enjoyable
Very fun, enjoyable. Very fun playing, I can hear the smile
in your fingers! Nice use of drums, and the back and
forth with the bass is fun, altho more movement in the
bass line would have been nice. Nice piano sound too,
altho I'd use slightly less reverb for my ears (it sounds too
classical this way). Very good ending. Solid melody.

Your obvious love for playing the piano shines through

Nice balance between the piano, drums and bass.

Great sound, great feel.
I hated choir, too, when I was in elementary school, and now I direct
choirs! What goes around, comes around, I guess.

This is a great piece! I like the thick two-handed chords you put in
now and then.

This sounds like there might be lyrics. Are there?

I play piano, too, and have been using Synthogy Ivory with GB. Your
Yamaha piano sounds great. You might check out a track or two of
mine ("What Child Is This" is a good showcase for Ivory) to see if you
like the Ivory sound. You might enoy getting rid of a few cables!
