Lyrics

happiness:
nothing more, nothing less...
every moment, every breath:
death-defying...

happiness
is what we hope for/the best?
when you open your eyes,
do you find happiness?

and if so,
then i know you're going to be fine
because we're not alone in this life
though i know you'll go when it's time...

happiness
is what we make from all of this...
happiness is not what comes next:
it's what you miss...

all of this sound,
and then silence
whenever you leave...
but god, what a wonderful moment
when you are here with me...

god, what a wonderful moment,
when you are here with me...

Perfect
What an absolutely wonderful song. Such excellent
writing, performed with such remarkable talent. I'm really
blown away by your music.

That said, what's it going to take for me to convince you
to PUT YOUR NAME ON IT (real or stage)? You're not the
only person here who leaves all the tags blank on their
song files, but you age one of the only ones who does that
AND makes music that is sure to get passed around on
the net by adoring fans, fans who will not know who the
artist is because the mp3 they got from a friend or
elsewhere (not directly from your page) had no artist info
in the tags.

So there, I'll not bring it up again. Do as you please. So
long as you keep making the great music.

Waiting for the album
Excellent lyrics. Great song, great writing. You are the
quintessential poet singer-songwriter, a marvel. Some
technical critiques of the recording: It seems like you keep
the hold pedal down, creating strange sustains, especially
in the first verse (or perhaps it is a second part of lower
notes played in syncopation?); and the piano reverb is
capturing a ringing I'd prefer to not hear. After your
repeat, when I think you are playing a brush cymbal on
the left side, or something that is ringing, I'm not sure
what you want to do with this, but it was like a ghost
whispering in my ear, both fascinating and annoying.
When you come out with your album, and I hope you do, I
think you should play a duet with a cellist, who enters
near the middle-end, plays a solo, and plays out with you.
and cut the cymbal. a marvelous song.

Lovely song
Very nice singing and production, it lulls you along on a
nice melodic ride. I reckon you could maybe add a few
more subtle embellishments half way through, may be a
subtle orchestral part low in the mix. Anyway it sounds
great - well done!

lovely in the extreme
very nice song! ... all aspects good except for hum in
background ... i agree it needs some sort of instrument to
add towards end ... i like piano changes in middle verse
well in the extreme ... nice variation ...

Material
Great song content. That hum seems to be the held notes
from the Electric Piano. Sounds like sometimes the Sustain
Pedal was held too long after you played a different chord.

Like pgreenstone said, Perfect
MJ's greatest strength compared to other sites is that it
encourages musicians to criticise each other's music. I've
learned a lot, personally. But I've yet to find anything to
say about your work which would be any use at all to
improving any of your songs. When you create such
strong songs, even minor imperfections seem to become
part of them. So sorry, nothing to say but congratulations.
You arrived here so well-formed, I'm not sure what good
our feedback does you... but it's great that you can share
these tracks.

great
So little is needed to make a great song. Simple and plain played with a subtle vocal on top. Just beautiful. Good mood and good production. Its honest and professional as well not to over-arrange this piece of music with drums and more instruments.

Your Quality
There is a consistant quality to your work that... 1st I don't want to
listen to anything else when I'm done listening to you... but I also want
to go turn my equipment on, because you make this sound easier than
it really is...
