Description
This song was written by a friend of mine named Clint Walston. Clint passed away on April 9, 2000. He wrote lots of great songs but had just started recording them before he died. The vocals and acoustic guitar is Clint. This was only met to be a scratch track.

Recently I decided to add more tracks and try to finish some of his songs. This is the first one I have worked on. All the other instruments are played by me within GB with a midi keyboard. Any and all comments are welcomed and appreciated as I am still adding the finishing touches.

Nice
Sorry about the loss of your friend. This is a very good
song. Excellent job adding instrumentation to this. Sounds
very well produced to me. I really can't think of anything
I'd change on this.

Sparkling performance
Crisp, alive, engaging. Great vox. Top end might be a little
too bright, especially in beginning. A heartfelt song.
Thanks for sharing.

This is really good.

He sounds like a star.

Thanks for sharing

Another example of what how we hear this and that top
recording artist that is national known and think of the as
being tops when in fact the internet will eventually show that
there is more to stardom that what is taken in by the masses.

You're right, Tiler. We are turning the whole traditional music publishing and
PR industry upside down. The internet helps those without means drill their
way to "the top". MacJams is like one huge musical blog -- i.e., a weblog or
journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public
consumption, representing the personality of the author(s) or web site. So
potent that even established Pop stars are blogging now.

Country folk rock
Nice track all around. Love the 6/8 feel. I'd place this
under Folk before Pop, tho; even Country before Pop. Kind
of pop-country-folk soft folk-rock. Nice drum track
groove, sometimes the timing is slightly off in the pickup
kick bass notes. Very strong guitar work. Piano solo could
have been louder, and some of the piano part is a little
less country than maybe the song wanted. But a happy
groove, wonderful swaying feel, and crystalline acoustic
guitars. A real feel good track. Thanks for sharing,
completing the arrangement.

Love the
world-weary rasp in Clint's voice. I love what your doing inyour friends honor. You're a good person. I'd add a midi bass (or make existing one stronger) And as Tobin said turn up the piano during the instrumental duet part. Great job! Thanks for posting.

Great production!
Great production, especially if you're using old "demo" or
"scratch" tracks, like you mention.

You've done a wonderful job with the adding the rest of
the band around the original tracks.

Love it
It's sad to lose a friend but thanks to you his music lives
on. What a wonderful song. Clint had a wonderful voice
and wrote a very enjoyable song. Whatever you've done
so far to complete this has worked out really well. It
sounds great, radio ready. Perhaps the tone on Clint's
guitar could use a little mellowing; it's just a tad too
focused on the twangy end, just a tad.

I, too, would like to hear the final version when you get it
done so that I can replace this version that I'll be
downloading today.

I imagine it must be quite an emotional experience
working to finish his music. My hat's off to you.

Nice
Very nice tune. An accordian would sound luscious. I
imagine a harmonica would be a choice but that would
make it too, too much like Neal Young.

A simple song written really well.

Good luck.

Thank you all
This song is my favorite of Clint's and it's nice to see others like as well.

I will finish it and put up more of them as there are about 20 of Clint's songs
that I have started finishing.

Thanks again and just make music!

Clint was my friend also
I just listened to Molly Brown and you did good. I remember him playing it for me. I don't know if you are familiar with a track called Everything's Alright, it was a duet with me and Clint. My name is Kelly Gerst and I was the "rapper girl" who did the verses and he of course did the refrain. I have a lot of his lyrics and I have copies of just a couple scratch tracks also. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see you are doing this. I would like it if we could chat. Are you working with that Jeff higgins guy? That is who we worked with and the guy who had the farm recording studio out in batavia. Maybe we already know each other. I met Clint through Dave Lacey. If I can help in any way let me know. If you need his lyrics and songs that were just ideas but no music, I have several of those also.

wonderful song. I applaud you for your willingness to
continue his work and posting it here. I love the rest of

guitar playing and voice. So sorry to hear his
passing....I'm so appreciative you will be sharing so much
more of his work.

Lovely song.
The work you did on it is such a nice tribute to your friend. Thank you for sharing it. I kind of like the roughness of it myself but I know nothing about mixing.

Great.
I love so many things about this: the vocal quality, the
lyrics, the...well...pretty much everything! My only
question about the production is- Was there a piano part
in the background toward the end? It seemed like the
timing was a bit off, or maybe it just seemed that way
because I had to strain to hear it. Anyway, that's nothin'. I
love this song. Thanks for posting. I look forward to more
of these tunes.
