Description

My 'Soul' music idol's are Sam Cooke,Bobby Womack and Johnnie Taylor. The list is longer but these 3
are special to me. This track is my
tribute to these 'artist' of soul.
I worked to incorporate the 3 simular, yet different styles of each
singer.
I played simple soul piano over
soul/blues guitar. The most important part of the track, was singing the background vocals in the style of the "Soul Stirrers".
Just my way of saying thanks to
these 3 legends.

	Well Done Love the vocals. I'm listening in headphones and they sound very, very fine. At the same time, the bass seems a bit heavier than it needs to be. (But might sound ok in speakers, I haven't tried that.)

Classic 60's soul...
that captures that era. I found myself back on the dance floor... dancing (and a little squeezing and huggin). This very much reminds me of the kind of songs that were requested for our band to play near the end of a dance. Slow, soulful, and lovin'.
By the way, although your vocals are dynamite, your guitar work is vintage soul/R&B and really underpins your singing. So well done... (in the distance a faint horn section with a few chosen stabs accenting the chorus maybe?) Only dreaming.

As far as those horns go,you must be reading my mind ! . I did'nt want to cheapen a classic sounding track with synthesizer horns ( even thought some don't sound bad). But i do think about that 'Muscle Shoals' horn
sound. The 3 artist i mention in the tribute used that famous
horn section from Alabama. Good call jack !

yer talkin!!! this is my favorite sound in the whole world...I think I like
this even more than my beloved blues...old style soul music is timeless
and it appeals to every age...playing the old motown hits, james B,
tunes and such for these many years i have seen every type of human
being bop and groove to this style music.

This sound like it could have come from muscle shoals around 1970 or
so! I try to write these kind of soul ballads all the time, and it is
ridicuously hard. and this song nails it!!!!
