Description
Hard to work out a genre for this one! Folk rock it is.
Another Ian Robbins song from 1972. Marastique, a seminal northern beaches (Sydney) surfers band in the early 70’s was the vehicle for Ian’s happy songs with a message. I had the pleasure of playing bass, and have remembered these songs all this time to be reproduced here on MJ. ACR is such a happy song, and I’ve always loved it.
Marastique lives!

Lyrics
When I was younger it seemed
That it all was redeemed
The world was magic
There was a certain roundness to the days
But as we go our different ways
The situation’s tragic
The air is brown
And the sun wears a frown
And I’m feeling so down
Thinking it’s easy to go
Turn my back on you all
Find a home on the outside
But it’s not so easy it seems
You try to shatter my dreams
Whereas I’m just now on your side
It’s all been by
And I know I should try
‘cause I don’t want to die
Now I’ve found
That the lifestyle ain’t so sound
And although you try to pressure me
Maybe you and I don’t want to see
You just don’t fit into my world
Time has come for a change
And even though it may seem strange
There’s a thousand good reasons
We are thinking today
We’re so far away
From the earth and it’s seasons
Let’s all stop and think
Shall we swim or shall we sink
For we’re all on the brink
That it all was redeemed
The world was magic
There was a certain roundness to the days
But as we go our different ways
The situation’s tragic
The air is brown
And the sun wears a frown
And I’m feeling so down
Thinking it’s easy to go
Turn my back on you all
Find a home on the outside
But it’s not so easy it seems
