Like the unique blend of classical with the modern
instruments and production. Good job!

some good stuff &mdash 07/01/05 - 12:12:03 PM
You've chosen some nice string loops for this piece.

The chord progression you have selected could be built
upon and developed more, perhaps choose some
additional chords for greater interest.

The fast string loops became a bit repetitive. This in itself
is not "bad" if you vary the chords more underneath.

The sax sound really didn't fit the strings, to my ears
anyway. However, you had some good grooves going with
it on the faster, syncopated notes.

The longer, sustained parts did not sound like a real sax
player. I think that you could easily substitute a more
orchestral-type woodwind, like bassoon, clarinet or oboe,
which would fit the string texture better.

Did you mean to have someone collaborate on this piece?
I see that it's in the "Open Collab" genre. Otherwise, it
could be in classical (if you did the woodwind
substitution) or in "Other" if you keep the sax.

Keep playing with JamPack 4 (I assume you used this?). It's
great that you are exploring orchestral sounds and
textures!

I Like This too &mdash 07/07/05 - 05:03:40 AM
I like your selection of instruments and the way you've put
the parts together. That sax sound ... I'm still looking for a
decent midi sax sound myself.

nice &mdash 10/13/05 - 09:09:36 AM
Sorry I didn't see this piece earlier. Like the suspense, nice decending
chordal structure in there.
Has a nice percussion feel as well.

Thanks for sharing

Pretty cool &mdash 01/29/06 - 10:27:34 PM
but it felt like it ended prematurely. I see that Cameron has written quite
a good analysis so I'll leave the critique in his able hands but I did enjoy
what I heard. Welcome to MJ!
