Description:
This is a recording I made a couple of years ago.
Sometimes when I do improvisations on the guitar, some theme from "the-vast-memorystore-of-music-of-all-kinds" suddenly sneaks in, like here. I showed to be a theme from something by Edvard Grieg.
I kind of liked this part of the the impovisation so I just cut it out like this...

Beautifully played &mdash 06/15/05 - 02:03:59 AM
Lovely sounds, lovely guitar tone, lovely arrangement
of the theme. I like the way the notes build up and
tumble together towards the end. Another excellent
track. [ Reply to This ]

thank you so much - grieg would be delighted to know how you've updated him. We used this theme as a coffee advert in blighty - but i still love your version x [ Reply to This ]
I should have known... &mdash 06/15/05 - 06:50:55 PM
...it's you again, LillNisse...
Once again, awesome guitar tone, and curiously, not the
SAME awesome guitar tone. You've got more than ONE
awesome acoustic guitar tone, which I envy. You actually
got a very nice sound out of the AG-Stomp, not brittle or
"piezo-y" or metallic...Even with the chorusing, there's
plenty of wood...
The playing is great, fluid and rippling...You and Ziti are
fillin' up my hard drive! And like he said...I want to hear it

something different &mdash 06/15/05 - 08:24:28 PM
I truly enjoyed this improvisation based on Grieg's
"Morgenstimmen", a well-known classic given a new
direction in life with your excellent guitar playing and
good musical ideas.
This performance has a different "flavor" than your other
submissions here -- some interesting tone-colors with
the slides, different chords. (I love ALL your stuff.)
Anyway, I very much enjoyed hearing this change of pace.

Peerless playing. &mdash 06/15/05 - 08:27:00 PM
(Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
This is like Morning Mood as done by Pink Floyd. A wonderful version of a piece so overused I never thought I'd be happy to hear it again. A charming and thoroughly original version of this chestnut. [ Reply to This ]
nice guitar stuff &mdash 06/18/05 - 11:43:20 PM
Like the experimentation. Good job
good production
What open tuning is this?

tuning is fun.
This is a nice little piece, would have liked
the guitar better "dry" without any FX, but
I still dig the music and the light and
improvisational feel of it.
I will be listening to this tune when i walk through
the streets of Bergen with my ipod :)
Cheers

That is a good point. If I were to record someting like this today I would have
used a lot dryer sound. When I made this I was kind of fascinated by my then
new Yamaha Acoustic Stomp. [ Reply to This ]

makes my soul dance!! &mdash 11/08/05 - 12:59:31 AM
You are a very good fingerstylist. I love the mood of it. Makes me feel like
dancing! The chorusing effect is very warm. You have the best acoustic
guitar sound I have ever heard from a macjam artist.

Bluesy Grieg &mdash 11/10/07 - 10:51:26 PM
So many composers were wannabe Germans, and wannabe Austrians. Grieg embraced his nationalism, and how we are blessed! I've got to download this, but I feel so guilty! Where is that coin slot! [ Reply to This ]
