Description:
Irish punk collaboration. An Irish drinking song in a Pogues/Flogging Molly style.
©2005 Benal- Alex Baker-Graham and Ben Hannah
Lyrics:
The Irish Witches Broom:-
There is a little place, It's called the Witches’ Broom
Not so much a drinker's den, But more a drinker's tomb
The clock is always set to half an hour til closing time,
They clean the loos with puke and piss, the table tops with wine"
The food they serve is infamous, the Drink they serve is worse,
The whiskey stinks of urine, The Guinness tastes of dirt.
The landlord is a Satanist he’ll always make you pay.
If your planning on going to heaven then you better stay away.
They’re lying on the table-tops,
They’re lying on the floor,
At 11 O’Clock the Reaper comes collecting for the poor
You’ll sing a song of heaven and hell,
It’s where you’ll meet your doom,
Crawling round the corner from the Irish Witches’ Broom.
Remember that reception for the pair of newly weds
They worried in the morning when they found them in their beds.
The landlord put the grill on just to toast the bride and groom.
There were screams of pain and laughter at the Irish witches broom.
They’re lying on the table-tops,
They’re lying on the floor,
At 11 O’Clock the Reaper comes collecting for the poor
You’ll sing a song of heaven and hell,
It’s where you’ll meet your doom,
Crawling round the corner from the Irish Witches’ Broom.
They’re lying on the table-tops,
They’re lying on the floor,
At 11 O’Clock the Reaper comes collecting for the poor
You’ll sing a song of heaven and hell,
It’s where you’ll meet your doom,
Crawling round the corner from the Irish Witches’ Broom.

Pogues!!! &mdash 06/15/05 - 02:27:18 PM
Definitely has a Pogues feel.
Nicely done! However, the drums are a bit much.
I liked it though. [ Reply to This ]

I like better than a good grunge-jig. Some great lines here
and a terrific chorus.
Loved it. [ Reply to This ]

awsome &mdash 12/28/05 - 12:51:02 AM
i like loud drums so this is nice. i think bands have the drums too quiet they're supposed to drive the song. ahh flash back to the flogging molly concert. sounding good. ahh lyric comes to mind "i was driving round the corner i was just around the band" the melody is alot like a flogging molly song. keep it up you guys are creative.
