Description:
Working downtown, living in suburbia, the birds are singing and hey, is that Bing Crosby in the background.
Lyrics:
I'm A Happy GuyUp in the morning and off to work, wife cheats on me and the kids are jerks
But there's no reason for me to cry, I guess I'm just a happy guy
Boss screams at me, because I was late, I want to hit him but I hesitate
I need this job and that's no lie, I still want to be a happy guy
guitar break
Customer calls me names, wants to know who's to blame
I smile at him and then I lie,I guess that's why I'm a happy guy
Get off from work and rush across town, daycare charges me if I'm late
So I guess I better not hesitate, I'm a fast drivin happy guy
guitar break
Man this day is draggin on, I need to find a better song
Lookin at the deep blue sky, I guess I'm just a happy guy

I got a kick out of this, Bronco. Your singing on this tune is
particularly nice. Made me smile.
You come in off beat at the very beginning but the rest is
great. The lead guitar seems too loud to me compared to
the rest of the arrangement. Bring it down a little. I'd also
try a little matrix reverb (maybe 20% wet/dry mix on a large
room setting) instead of the standard reverb to place the
lead guitar more in the same space that the vocals and other
instruments are in. Experiment to find a good setting for
that.

Thanks Peter, I wasn't happy with the way the guitar turned out either. I think
I might redo the whole thing.

Bronco... this is a brilliantly written song. You're in Randy
Newman territory here. I love the irony in this... And your
singing it hits exactly the right note. I'm a fan of your
guitar playiing too... but actually on this I want less of the
lead section. I think this should be pared down just to
keep the song sweet and understated.
bronco
Yep, guitar not good being redone. Look for repost of rev edition.
bronco
p.s. Look at the woman in the background. Does she remind you of anyone?

Thanks McBoy! For you to like this means a great deal.
Dead End
I made sure to listen to this before the revision.
Great guitar work, enjoyed the lead. The vocals are
great as well. The story is also cool. Look forward to
hearing what changes you've made.
