Traveling Blind

Description
Lyrics written by my wonderful wife before we were married. She gave me the lyrics and a few nights later something woke me up at 3 am and possessed me to get out of bed and drive from my apartment to my rehearsal studio where my Marshall full stack was residing. I plugged in my guitar, cranked the amp and out came the music for this tune.

Drums performed by the amazingly amazing Rich Markese. His drums of choice are Pork Pie.

TRAVELING BLIND
Lyrics: Sue Ann Kainz
Music: Ray Kainz
©2005 Ray Kainz / Sue Ann Kainz / moo shu music

Wait until tomorrow
while today’s dreams play
Shapes and shades of promise
shadows fade away
Light erodes emotion
pain distorts the game
Inner fire drowns love out
excuses for the tame

Yesterday’s exposed now
scars caused by the rain
Numbness overwhelming
nightmares grow again
Reach into the future
conceal the boldest flaws
Protect me from uncertainty
Illuminate Love’s Law

Animate fate with desire
classify love, love by degrees
Examine each imperfection
You can’t feel you can’t hear You can’t see
the blur becoming reality
your conscience so hard to find
you loose it all the time
If you know you need me
why don’t you --

Open your eyes
Tomorrow’s traveling blind
Open your eyes
Tomorrow’s traveling blind
With the past catching up from behind

damn fine tune
Very cool. I like this a lot. Big, powerful wall of sound.
Makes the hairs stand up. Great performances all around. I
think maybe the vocals could be brought forward a little.

Cool Vocals!
I liked the way the vocals sound on this.

Drums, Guitar and even the "cheap" Ibanez Bass sound great.

Another for my iPod!

Thanks!!

Yes!
Excellent guitars. Without question my favorite part is the
"Animate fate with desire" section; very Yes, my favorite
band. really strong chorus mixed into a progressive
sound. And amazing Rich Markese is truly excellent. The
drums drive, solidify, expand and become a lead
instrument in all the right parts. There were times that in
my ears the vocals seemed much airier/lighter/reverbed
than I thought would work, especially inside such in-
your-face and bold guitar playing, yet by the end I
enjoyed the juxtaposition; altho I could not follow the
lyrics without the post textual help (except in the chorus).
Great changes, transitions, especially into "Animate with
desire..." Superb track.

Eleveneyes....
the man of eleventy different sounds and styles. This
is another amazing production of an innovative vocal
and instrumental sound fest. What time did you get
back home that night... or later that day... or....?

First Class...
...rock jam. Great lyrics, melody and rhythms. Really
enjoyed that. Powerful guitar. Production was terrific but
I thought the vocals could have been up a bit more. Still,
really well done.

high energy!
This is a wonderful performance!

Your guitar playing is crisp and driving, very energetic. It
melds perfectly with the truly inspired drums.

Excellent vocals could possibly come up in the mix, but
sound good as is. Great lyrics, Sue Ann!

There is so much for the ears to savor on this tune. Your
mix on the various elements is masterful -- it's
challenging to make everything fit together as well as it
does on this piece.

Truly great.

Herb, is that you?
I like the trumpet a lot. I wish there was more.

When was that last time you heard trumpet in a rockin song?

Stupid 4's suck.

Aaaah.
Nothing inspires creativeness like imsomnia. Great song,
lyrics and guitar both, with the drums being nice and
flowery, but still driving..

Yeah! This tune rocks, and in
a good way. Part Mars Volta, part XTC. But plenty original
enough, and the production is super. I like the vocals
where they are in the mix, it is definately the style now.
