Description:
Working downtown, living in suburbia, the birds are singing and hey, is that Bing Crosby?

This is second post. Fixed problem with lead guitar. (I hope)

Lyrics:
I'm A Happy Guy

Up in the morning and off to work, wife cheats on me and the kids are jerks
But there's no reason for me to cry, I guess I'm just a happy guy
Boss screams at me, because I was late, I want to hit him but I hesitate
I need this job and that's no lie, I still want to be a happy guy

guitar break

Customer calls me names, wants to know who's to blame
I smile at him and then I lie,I guess that's why I'm a happy guy

Get off from work and rush across town, daycare charges me if I'm late
So I guess I better not hesitate, I'm a fast drivin happy guy

guitar break

Man this day is draggin on, I need to find a better song
Lookin at the deep blue sky, I guess I'm just a happy guy

much better &mdash 06/16/05 - 01:22:59 PM
This sounds sooo much better. Great tune, Bronco. I'd still
like to hear the very beginning fixed where your singing "Up
in the morning..." comes in a little late. That would make it
just perfect.

Great song &mdash 06/16/05 - 11:32:45 PM
Cracked me up. Cool lyrics and like the harp. Simple song
yet so effective. Pretty darn good.

Great song &mdash 06/17/05 - 08:40:57 AM
Thanks zendog. Don't play the harp that well but on this song I think it was in
keeping with the spirit of the song.

That is George Bush in a wig, isn't it? &mdash 06/17/05 - 04:14:16 AM
Thanks for redoing this, Tom. It was so worth it. Yes.. that
guitar is well and truly nailed now. PG is right about that
first note, but that aside, this is perfect enough for me.
Lovely work.

Very astute! That is the leader of the err. . . civilized world? I really don't hear
what you'll are saying about the beginning but I will listen again. Thanks for
listening twice.

The secrets of happiness &mdash 06/17/05 - 09:40:56 AM
are contained in this fine song. Excellent.

Your guitar sound quality has improved &mdash 06/17/05 - 03:04:43 PM
I like the lead sounds, they seem richer.

Like the brush sounds.

The whole is very nice.

Great singin.

Thanks for sharing.

You seem to be getting better sound quality on this one
for sure.

Whole tune is very nice!

Thanks Tiler Bill! I guess what you are hearing is a more acoustic lead without
many effects. The lead was done on my Alvarez-Yari acoustic recorded
through the pinhole mic. The rhythm guitar was a cheap Dean acoustic/
electric plugged into my M-Audio interface. The vocal was also done through
the pinhole mic. I don't know why but the pinhole mic gives a more upfront
live sound and doesn't pick up as much room noise as the expensive mics do
through the usb interface.

Thought I had commented on this &mdash 06/19/05 - 08:10:13 AM
but must have hit the wrong button.

Like everyone else, I believe this a heads-and-tails
improvement over the previous version.

Love the overall feel of this one %u2014 just the right touch of
ideological irreverence.

if I said that I were happy... &mdash 12/03/05 - 11:45:16 AM
then I would just be smiling with a lie...the song makes me feel happy and sad at the same time...the complacency, apathy, lethargy, and contentment of this "happy guy" really frustrate me and make me want to choke him (that is, if he hasn't done it already on a pretzel), but that would just be about every average joe out there, living in blissful ignorance....great vocals and lyrics (I like it when lyrics can evoke some reaction/feeling out of the ordinary)...wonderful guitar and harmonica playing
