Hey &mdash 06/18/05 - 10:00:59 AM
Thanks for the reply! I appreciate it. The production is rough, honestly. But I'm getting used to the software. Next ones will improve. Also, I checked out some of your music and really like it. Your voice is wonderful!

Now that's some bass playin! &mdash 06/17/05 - 05:21:58 PM
Great bass playing... great writing... now what makes a
great bass player is syncopating with a drummer, which is
what this song lacks. The drum loops were a drag to an
otherwise good tune.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks, I hear ya. I spent a total of 15 minutes on the drum track. I spent about 2 hours total on the whole thing, writing included. It was basically an improvised idea. Next time I'll work on production and tracking more seriously.

Hey jacko &mdash 06/18/05 - 05:32:12 PM
Great bassplaying. You have a great technique. I really think the bassguitar should get more attention in popmusic.-)

Play on dude!

Hey jacko &mdash 06/18/05 - 09:44:39 PM
Great comment; I'm biased, of course, but truly love to play bass and express it without limitation or fear. I think it works well in many varieties, and don't get me wrong, I can hang back and play the pocket when the music calls for it. However, I also enjoy letting 'er rip!

More Bass (: &mdash 06/19/05 - 06:26:23 PM
What can I say. Lots of Bass action here. You certainly know
how to handle that Bass. I love that Jaco/World Bass Tone.
Perhaps you'd be willing to add you Bass magic to some of
my Jams. I hear Collab... Consider adding a breakdown
section just to break things up a bit. Also some variation in
the Drums would be an added bonus.

Great Stuff Drew!

Southern cookin' &mdash 07/01/05 - 10:56:42 PM
I agree w/ DC about the drum loop thing here, I'd love to
hear this w/ a real drummer. Cooks along good though,
kinda, Jaco meets Dregs. Groovin'

Top bass! &mdash 07/05/05 - 12:23:25 PM
Listened to all your tunes now - this one my fave - I hear
Jaco and Stanley Clarke too. Man you sure can play, got them
talking alright and I agree with thoddi - bass guitar should
get more recognition. This one crying out for a "clean up" job
on the production - and more variation in the drums. A real
jazz drummer here would be fantastic - this would sound
awesome live. It could be brilliant.
Top stuff!

I wish I could play like that. I like the Fender tone too.

Very emotive playing, this music just sounds bouncy and
fun... very impressive bass-playing... and of course your cat
rules, they all do, and they know it. :-) Tigger looks well-
loved in that picture, even tolerates close-up flashes. I look
forward to you collaborating with others here, everybody
needs a good bass player, and you sound very talented!

Excellent playing! I love the piccolo bass fillin' up the top, wish it was louder. Real drums would put this over the top! I look forward to checkin' out more...

That's a really sweet sound you're playing with that bass tone like that.
There's some good technique here.

Great sound! &mdash 01/25/06 - 08:32:18 PM
Drew, I really enjoy this track. Your bass licks are punchy without
being overpowering. I used to play in a band with a bass player who
seemed to think that "loud and nasty" equalled "good." Not so with
your playing. Well-conceived and articulated.

John
