Description:
Originally written for harpsichord by Rameau in this arrangement I have taken the liberty
to have an orchestra join in to compliment.
This is often described as one of Rameau's exotic pieces. Some rather unique scales and in places rhythms that were rarely used if at all in the baroque era. Arranged/mix/mastering in GarageBand

unique combo &mdash 06/18/05 - 10:29:40 AM
Amadeus and Garageband...seeing that combination of
names made me smile. Totally enjoyed the arrangement.
Thanks.

Pleasant arrangement &mdash 06/19/05 - 06:42:51 AM
I'm unfamilar with the piece and have no musical training to
tell you whether or not it is a good arrangement, but it
sounds good to my untrained ears.
Just a side note - given the name, it would be interesting to
hear this piece rearranged using some middle eastern lead
instruments rather than the harpsichord.

The whole package &mdash 06/20/05 - 12:29:33 PM
Wonderful arrangement. And I enjoy the perfect artwork,
too. This is so lively, so well done. Thank you for
bringing the literature of classical music to Macjams.

lovely &mdash 06/22/05 - 01:19:41 PM
This piece was indeed ahead of its time, and a good
choice in the classical genre to submit here.

The arrangement has a great deal of life and vitality to it
-- excellent job on the string orchestra. It complements
the harpsichord nicely.

The volume levels in the first half of the song seemed a
little low. The sound was less full, especially in the mid-
range. Then it increased in the second half, which was
more realistic-sounding.

The string articulations were a bit long, perhaps; they
didn't quite match the short "punch" of the harpsichord.

Overall, very refreshing piece to listen to, well done! Great
song art, too.

Nice Arrangement &mdash 07/15/05 - 11:17:53 AM
If only GB had tempo mapping...this cries out for some tempo changes, especially some ritardando at the end. Time to move up to Logic Express :-). Good job...and a nice period style arrangement

Dazzling! &mdash 11/14/06 - 03:06:41 PM
I too have never heard this piece by Rameau (one of the Gods of the Baroque) - it's absolutely superb. He's definitely an underappreciated great composer. I'm amazed at what you've done with this piece. It's dazzling. I'm really impressed that you put this all together in Garageband. The phrasing of the strings were remarkable.
You are a master.
Take Care,
Bowman
