Lyrics
Oh it's a shame
how you're running away from all who love you and with a smile you told reporters
those lies distorted for
someone new.
The road you're on gets tiresome and troubling your head by mine
driving home to see me
hoping the I'll be here
Oh it's a shame
how you're wasting away in a life so full
the poison wine your excuses your time
all leave this sublime denial in you
The road you're on gets tiresome and troubling your head by mine
driving home to see me
hoping the I'll be here
No no no no no
you don't have to take it that far.
You're up in the clouds banishing pride hoping you'll find
some peace
of mind to take you this time.
Oh it's a shame
how you're running away from all who love you and with a smile you told reporters
those lies distorted for
someone new.
And oh, it's a shame.
how you're running away from all who love you and with a smile you told reporters
those lies distorted for
someone new.
The road you're on gets tiresome and troubling your head by mine
driving home to see me
hoping the I'll be here
Oh it's a shame
how you're wasting away in a life so full

The road you're on gets tiresome and troubling your head by mine
driving home to see me

Hey, great voice! You have strong pop appeal, but also a
blues/soul character. In trying to put a finger on it I
thought of a hint of Janis Joplin, a little Natalie Merchant,
and a number of other female artists I can't quite corner (I
don't have a lot of genre exposure). Its a sort of mature
pop that has integrity and manages to be accessible
without the sickening sweetness of mass-produced pop.
The song itself is great. All the parts are right in tune with
the direction, the drum details are tasty, and that mellow
horn was a fantastic choice. (9-8-8-8)
P.S. More deails in the song description and lyrics please!
Everybody likes liner notes.
