Description
This is a song in celebration to Midsummer and Mythology. When I was little (younger), the adults used to tell me stories about a nude man (Näcken) sitting by the lake, or in the river, playing the violin. He used the beauty of the music to lure people to him and to drag them down to the underworld of the sea. Sometimes he could transform into a white horse that none could resist riding, and with the same purpose; riding the fools down into the lake. This nude man, the evil of the sea, has been a part of Scandinavian mythology since the Vikings. It's a mythology especially used around Midsummer among other similar stories and myths.
Nix is the only English word I could find translating the Swedish word for this character.
I play all instruments except the drums, although I've started to use fake drums on almost al of my song as os lately (whatever can be found in the kitchen etc.).
Thanks,
Mikki

Lyrics
[ nix ]
she's very young and lost
scared of giants, wights and trolls
she finds a deep black lake
and sounds of a violin
it is the play of the nix
a nix playing trix
a midsummer dream
the tunes are beautiful
she can't resist the magic sound
she has to be there too
she has to see this magic man
the nix is smiling at her face
then he turns around in flames
he drags her down into the lake
he takes her down to hell

I like the instrumental workout in the middle. I was thinking maybe it would be good to hear this sung in Swedish. The harmonies in the chorus are really great in your trademark offbeat way!
