Very well done Hey T, Very nice work. I really enjoyed this piece. Nice warm feeling I'm recieving from it. Icecream seems quite appropriate right now... I always feel a bit lacking after I listen to artist like you. I have a tune that I just finished and it it is in such contrast to this type of work and ones that are on the board right now, that I am just choosing to hold off on posting for a bit. A combination of the two Hey T. I think I'm with ledeb on this one in that I'd be tempted to go with a combination of the two. The wah is an interesting effect in combination with the acoustic fingerpicking taking the genre in a new direction, but I'm with Alimar in that it might be a bit much to continue through the entire piece. This is a sweet melody And it grabbed be right away. It's fine without the wah, and well I left a comment on that version that doesn't need repeating here. But in this version I can hear better how the minor part comes in and changes the feeling in the song as I'm not so distracted. But I'm glad you posted the Wah version so I can compare them both. ...I keep hearing the Wah in my head while listening to this one. Now what we need is a partial Wah piece so we can have the best of both worlds.
You wife is right that the Wah version is silly, but I think that's a really good thing. I smiled my way through the song, a big sappy, just-fallen-in-love-and-eaten-ice-cream kind of grin. It's fascinating how changing an effect can change the entire tone of a song. This version has a much more nostalgic, kicking down the road, sort of feel, which I also like.
Great musicianship all around, either way. You play beautifully.
