Description:
This is a song I recently wrote. Its been a while since I uploaded a song onto Macjams so I hope you all like this one. Its a soft rock ballad, not dissimilar to other songs ive uploaded.

Lyrics:
holding me down
face on the ground
trying to love

feelin so blue
how i found you, and lost you
and noones around

Chorus:

trying so hard to reach you
not trying too hard too teach you
and our love....
is over.....
its over, cant go on any more

verse 2:

raining down
threw my stuff around
i have to leave

taking back,
all the crap and the shit we said
hold me one last time

great song &mdash 06/29/05 - 07:46:31 AM
I really like this. The singing is really great. I felt like it maybe could build up a bit more with additional harmonies on the chorus, and my tendency is to think that a real guitar part could enrich this a lot.

Liam, glad to see you're posting again! &mdash 06/29/05 - 12:09:45 PM
Great textures in your instrument selection. The vocals
really sound good, especially when the harmonies kick in.
I agree with Jim, more harmonies! The vocals could be
brought up a bit, though. The change up, in the middle
(with guita)r, is a nice touch. Effective solo! The ensemble
of instruments just seems to build and build.

Excellent job... and that subtle ending!

now dont get annoyed, but your voice reminds me abit of
darren hayes. this is a good thing tho - i promise. cos as
cheesy as he is, he does have a damn good voice. love the
harmonies, spot on. nice song obbster.

I'm not always a fan of ballads, however, this tune is quite good.

Gettin' better &mdash 06/29/05 - 08:54:47 PM
with each submission. Obbster- you've got a fantastic
voice and it's improving everytime you bring us new
tunage.

This song almost comes off as a prog rock power ballad....
okay, so we make a new genre... heheh.

Solo was cool but as Jim Bouchard said it would be totally
kickass with some real strings.

Nice job!

Your song is very simple and wonderful.
The melody is quiet.
It is a gentle voice.

Great song layout &mdash 06/30/05 - 08:26:07 AM
Another Obbster crysong. I like it. This has a sweeping,
broad feeling...almost majestic, despite its intimate, pain-
soaked message. Your voice is a good listen...with or
without flanking harmonies. Just a few flat notes (on the
highest ascents) that can be polished up with practice.
You effortlessly glide from chest to head voice. Do more!

Great vocals &mdash 06/30/05 - 05:11:19 PM
Good song, really like all the vocal harmonies you have on
this one. A really nice production. Normally the phrase
'power ballad' has me running for shelter but this has a
kind of innocence to it that is refreshing

Very compelling &mdash 07/28/05 - 08:12:27 AM
Something very compelling, emotionally enrapturing about
this anthem-like ballad. Really nice, even thru all the mix
level things my ear wants to change, the progression is so
strong and classic, reaches inside, and the vocal layering
(especially the higher voice) is very affecting. Nice track.
