I did 8 takes and called it a day.

I think you need a contrasting section in here to make whatever melody a vocal would sing more evident...like a bridge..something to give it definition...good luck with it...

The version (with words) seems to flow differantly( than the sound only one)
I left this one sparse, low fi but do agree that a contrast could help
I can work on it some more
