Description:
This is one part of many in a series of songs, paintings, writing, short movies, performance pieces I am working on.
For now, let's call it: PROJECT | SILENCE
It is still only ideas and nothing is yet defined. The human element will always stay in focus, while being surrounded by psychology, philosophy, nature, architecture, art, life and death etc. I am trying to build this in different acts and hopefully one day be able to perform it - most likely in a much different environment than a stage. It's not a musical, not a theatre, not even a performance really - it's an act of MIKKI and hopefully more artists and musicians in the future. I believe it will be much more like a rock concert but with elemtns of different art forms, AND the interaction and involvement of the audience. This is like I said very much on the idea stages right now, but as soon as this grows (hopefully it will), I will also keep posting sketches, drawing, writings and other ideas involved in this project.
Thanks,
Mikki
Lyrics:
[ scene:road ]
chapter I
he is walking
god knows for how long
this long and narrow road
talking to the trees
building on his dreams
walking and walking
sore is his feet
on a road to nowhere
the silence is broken
by a black crow
love should be a simple road
none wants to ride alone
chapter II
she's laying on the road
waiting for something
the rain is pouring down
inside a circle of flowers
wishing she could stand up and go
but she can't
she needs to lay down
wait, there's a moment of hope
the silent is broken
by two sore feet
love should be a simple road
none wants to ride alone
chapter III
you find her laying on a road
you bend down
and you whisper in her ear:
would you mind
you, the beauty of the road
would you mind
would you be so kind
to come with me home?
the silent is broken
by true love
love should be a simple road
none wants to ride alone

I was just listening to Tango and up pops another one! &mdash 06/30/05 - 01:19:55 PM
another mikki song, I mean, and it's really like 1 a day...remarkably prolific, and high quality stuff too! So I'm not complaining, but it is hard to keep up. :) This one is really well thought out and cinematic and has a very nice chorus. Again reminding me of Eno. [ Reply to This ]

Thanks! I am in a very creative mood at the moment, and rather than putting all
the effort into mixing one song, I've chosen to get the "stuff" out of myself
instead... Thanks for listening!

Boy, you keep cranking them out faster, but the quality seems to improve with each one. I really like the chorus in this one. You kinda remind me of David Byrne at times. This makes me inspired to write more songs so keep it up! [ Reply to This ]

Thank you! I just listened to your stuff, never heard you before but it is great!!!
I've been compared to Byrne before and have to admit I've almost never heard
him. I am glad I inspire you! I just got inspired by your latest post... :)
Thanks!

Love the retro San Francisco impressionist sound and
lyrics. Great lyrics. Really liked the break, the pace
change, for the question, the important invitation. My ears
couldn't get around the nearly slack almost bored way you
sing the chorus, tho, even tho that sort of fits the retro
feel; and I may be totally misinterpreting it, too. For some
stupid reason I hear a growing chorus building a longer
repeated ending, like Foreigner's "I want to know what
love is." Maybe you could open this up to collab and get a
dozen MJ voices to bang out a huge ending? [ Reply to This ]

JOAN > Jefferson, wow, that's a great, honorable
comparison. Summer of love once again - one can dream,
right?
Tobin > You're absolutely right in regards to collaboration
thoughts here. This newly started project will require
additional voices as well as instrumentalist (and others). I
am thinking one, or some female voices on this song,
that's why the chorus vocal is laid back, something is
suppose to be there, on top.
Thank you for listening and comment!
