Description:
SGF (from TUMI contest submission): Harp Melody:Synth Ambient:Space Bass: Strings Grand:: Electro percussion:Rhodes Melody:Synth Chords: Synth Riff:Synth Sequence.
In total 13 loop tracks and 10 vocal tracks

Drew: I took SGF's magnificent tune (http://www.macjams.com/song/song_profile.php?lid=8327) and played bass after adding heavier groove and effects. I actually used SGF's vocals like another instrument in parts. I mastered the track using garage band and, after getting addicted to figuring out how to master on GB, i.e., several time-consuming experiments, achieved an acceptable result. I seriously hope you like this ambient, big sounding, melodic dance groove as much as I love it!!!! Thanks to SGF for developing such a wonderful track that influenced me the first time I listened to it (and for letting me "juice it up!"). I appreciate your feedback.

Lyrics:
Tell me that you care. Tell me you'll be there.
Cos' I'm in Love with you.

Tell me that you'll be; forever here with me.

You can take me as I am. Take my hand; take my hand.

Show me what you see. Show me reality.

And I am willing to learn.

Show me what I am. I want you to understand.

You can take me as I am. Take my hand; take my hand.

Hardware:
Drew Kopr: Powerbook G4; Fender Precision Bass (70's model with '62 jazz pick-up direct into computer). Monster cables.

SGF: Imac G4; Rode NT1-A; Mobile Pre.

Software:

Excellent remix! &mdash 06/30/05 - 09:19:46 PM
It was a great track before but now it *really* grooves with
that added bass and tweaking. Mmmm mmmm!

Excellent!

This is my &mdash 06/30/05 - 11:41:50 PM
favourite Slimmie song and on my Top 10 songs of the
site so I was pleased to see you didn't get too radical with
it. An interesting take on a fantastic tune.

I'm a Fan &mdash 07/01/05 - 11:42:39 AM
of SGF, and this one is just another great ambient electronica
track. Love the bass playing, it give the loops some real
organic presence. SGF did you patent your sound yet? Love it!

improving an already magnificent thing &mdash 07/01/05 - 11:51:11 AM
I like what you've done with Slimmie's great tune very
much! The bass-line and added groove beef up this track
and makes it even more "danceable".

You've paced the grooves very, very well; alternating bass
and percussion nicely. The mix is balanced nicely from the
lowest to highest sound spectrums.

This is a very gratifying listen. Great job, Drew!

You have a good ear because mastering the sonic spectrum levels was what I worked on for so many detail intensive hours.

I was a fan of the original to start with. You did a great job
with this, kicking it up to the next level. Your bass and other
additions and tweaks make Slimmie's song shine even
brighter.

mellow guy like myself. One love.

Drew and Slimmie... &mdash 07/01/05 - 07:35:50 PM
...what was already a great track, just became better. The
addition of bass (SlimGirl loves bass), and sonic
improvements are phenomenal! Slimmie has another
venue for her talent... and did I mention... she LOVES
bass!

pink floydish &mdash 07/02/05 - 02:50:48 PM
The bass groove and sound is very similar to something I've heard Pink Floyd do way back. Except the thumb tricks;)

I think you've made a more tighter version of Slimmies tune. The direct bass groove makes a good contrast to the reverb drenched vocals and dreamish synths. You have a great rythm feel to your playing.

Good work:)

Play on!

Another level &mdash 07/02/05 - 10:07:40 PM
This takes an already excellent piece to a new level. Love
the punchier sound, great counter to Slimmie's
smoooooth vocals. D/L

Good stuff &mdash 07/05/05 - 05:28:26 PM
The deeper, harder pulsing sends this toward the
European Vocal Trance/Dance genre which my son loves.

Nice tune &mdash 07/05/05 - 05:31:47 PM
Once again...SGF right on the vocals. Isn't it cool how you
can stand on one note and get all the different sounds out
of it. Very Techno...Like the pause here and there when
you pasted the intro. Only one suggestion, maybe change
the key more often...maybe use the transpose option in
parts of the verse to change the melody. Other than that
great job.

Nice work Mr Kopr &mdash 07/11/05 - 07:06:41 PM
Finally got round to listening to this one. Your bass work
would be a welcome addition to any track here. I continue to
be in awe of your nimble fingers and rhymthic sense. Haven't
heard the original of Slimmie's tune, but she never fails to
produce fine work. An excellent marriage between 2 of the
MacJams greats. DL

Great Driving Music &mdash 07/20/05 - 12:11:32 PM
Really enjoy this track. The electronic mix with the vox
seems to fit perfectly. Like the way it kicks back and drifts
with the strings and then comes launching back with the
driving beat and pulsing electronics.

Diggen it &mdash 07/29/05 - 02:27:22 PM
Well, where was I when this little jiggy came to be... Very
niece groove Drew and Slimmie. I remember the original...
you just gave what I recall was an excellent production, an
even higher degree of excellence. PHAT with the groove
factor...

LOVE it!

Nice! &mdash 07/29/05 - 05:02:15 PM
Of course, it has SGF in it, and it has some incredibly
infectious bass-playing, but even more importantly, you've
rather expertly downplayed the usually-overpowered
thumping beat of this genre, and arranged and balanced the
music quite well... makes this stand out a bit from all the
other dance tunes. Masterful remix!

this is ... &mdash 09/25/05 - 03:13:22 PM
... just a little remix really. a bit of slappy bass and some swirly stuff. I'm
even sure if this is an improvement on the original. I's slightly different
tho.

Be cool,

Pie
