Description:
Same old story - unsuccessful date - you write a waltz..

Lyrics:

Oh my love won't you give me this dance,
Let me sweep you right off of your feet?
If you let me, I'll show you how our love could be.
While the room gently spins I will gaze in your eyes.

But like water through my fingers,
She slips away again.

I'm the one but you don't know it yet,
Don't be fooled by this weary disguise.
I can see hesitation right there in your eyes.
While the room gently spins won't you tell me your name.

But like water through my fingers,
She slips away again.

There's a look in your eyes
And you can't seem to hide
That there's no chemistry

But like water through my fingers,
She slips away again.

The First Waltz &mdash 06/30/05 - 07:16:57 PM
Musicianship/Production is first rate; how often do you hear a waltz these days?

Lyrics, we've all been there at one time or another.

Good Job!

I really like this &mdash 06/30/05 - 11:44:31 PM
I think the words here are the best i've heard here at MJ for
that a "you don't love me" love song. Terrific concept that
you seemed to have pulled off.

i just love the words you used about the water slippin
through your hands. Just terrrific!

Thanks for sharing

Retro walt spins with a tight concept &mdash 07/01/05 - 08:27:05 AM
Very nice drum track, bass arrangement. This has an
interesting mix of of alternative rock 6/8, ballroom fast
waltz, retro Donovan lightness and use of harpsichord, a
slight circus oopma feel. I can imagine you dancing while
thinking these things, but dancing in an old world sort of
way, as if it is an arranged date, or an organized setting,
or, at least, that this moment makes you feel that sort of
rigidity and distance. Very nicely conceived.

So many &mdash 07/01/05 - 11:37:14 AM
different aspects of this track to like. Definitely like the lyrics
and vocals! Very well crafted and witty! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much for your comments. &mdash 07/01/05 - 04:58:44 PM
What's more pleasing is that she called me back for another date.
Well whaddyaknow!
Hope the prospect of happiness doesn't ruin the songwriting.

Definitely... &mdash 07/01/05 - 06:15:57 PM
...an impressive and different tune. Great lyrics and you have
such a smooth and flowing vocal style. Very enjoyable.

And don't worry, happiness only ruins comedians and
writers.

Good luck.

'60s date gone bad (but this song is GOOD) &mdash 07/01/05 - 06:52:05 PM
This song has a very retro '60s feel to it... it's the
combination of winsome vocals and harpsichord, and
harmonies.

Your lyrics speak truly. We've all been there!

Very nice combination of guitar, drums, keyboards and
vocals. Occasionally the drum track sounds a bit too
"busy" in the mix, but it's really imaginative and well done,
overall.

A fan of 3/4 &mdash 07/04/05 - 12:32:24 PM
I like this swirling piece. Very nicely done, Andy.

3 or 4? &mdash 07/18/05 - 08:33:07 PM
Could be 12/8...... Whatever. It swings with a good drum
part with fills in all the right places but maybe just a tad
loud. I love the lyric. Good stuff Andy. I also love your
TV show but that has probably already been said but I am
new around these parts.......
