Description:
A song for the 4th of July. "Bunker Hill" is a traditional song dating back to the American war for independence. The lyricist ponders giving his life for his country in battle. Btw, this is an instrumental version.
Lyrics:
Why should vain mortals tremble at the sight ofdeath and destruction in the field of battle,
where block and carnage, where blood and carnage,
clothe the ground in crimson, sounding with death groans?
Death will invade us by the means appointed,
and we must all bow to the King of terrors;
Nor am I anxious, nor am I anxious,
if I am prepared, what shape he comes in.
Still shall the banner of the King of heaven
never advance wehere I'm afraid to follow;
while that precedes me, while that precedes me
with an open bosom, war, I defy thee.
Life for my country and the cause of freedom
is but a trifle for a worm to part with;
and if preserved, and if preserved
in so great a contest, life is redoubled.

I like the evolving synth sound. Very cool textures and melodies in this!
_nderscore
weird that it starts on some funky notes, & the loops
completely caught me off-guard. vic, is that you? heheh. i'm
afraid to ask what cheesemachine does
now you just gotta get someone to sing this..
TennesseeVic
The main synth is Tassman. Nice, not?
Cheesemachine emulates a Solina strings. Here I've dragged it through sort of a
trance gate: it's that choppy 16th notes sound.
About those loops, hey it's a holiday weekend. I'm allowed to take it easy, not?
Next time I'll program my drums again.
Thanks for listening!

I read the description of the song and the lyrics and was all set for traditional instruments and practically fell on the floor when I heard the synth set in. I think this is a great re-imagining of the song and I'm slapping you a high five (fourth) on this one.
Now you just need a vocal to match in tone so that it can become a song for space aliens marching into battle. I need to go and listen to Cello Mello to detox now!
I have to agree with ledebutant on this. The instrumentation knocked me for a
loop after having read the description. I enjoyed this very much.

Was the fight done by "Bunker Hill"?
It is a very good melody.
It is a very good sound.
TennesseeVic
Yes, Bunker Hill was a battle in the American revolutionary war. I used melody almost exactly, and most of the chords as I found them in the sheet music.
Glad you enjoyed it.

I understood. The name of Bunker Hill is not forgotten. By the way, I
do not understand the meaning,.....'kay?.....Is it meaning?
TennesseeVic
The " 'kay " is short for "okay". So, I'm saying that people should review each
others tunes. I will now look at your work, as promised.....

Mr. S
lil bit of funk in this. Get down man!
Absolutely. Beats me why this guy doesn't have a recording contract.
Just dawned on me why you have this comment pasted on a few of your
tracks! You left the exact comment for loopy loop on his track.
TennesseeVic
I noticed that. I honestly don't remember leaving that comment.
Oh well.
