Description
This is an electronic version of a short song by Franz Schubert, "Die Stadt" -- The City -- written shortly before his death in 1828. In both this song and "Der Doppelgänger," there's a creepy quality about the music, and I hope that this arrangement brings that out. Those interested in hearing more may be interested in my orchestral piece based on the song. You can hear it for free at

Lyrics
On the distant horizon
there appears, like an image formed of mist,
the city with its towers,
cloaked in twilight
. . .
and shows me the place
where I lost what was dearest to me.
there appears, like an image formed of mist,
the city with its towers,
cloaked in twilight
. . .
and shows me the place
where I lost what was dearest to me.

looking around, but u can't find it, and it starts to drive u
