Description

This is the remastered version of Lente, a song written by 9 year old Philine van Es, to which I did an accompaniment. Philine wrote this song ("Spring") for a school performance, and her father posted here on Macjams if someone wanted to dress it up a little.

This version has one or two more instruments than the original, and is gorgeously mastered by xarc mastering.

Tempo seems too fast
Seems like the tempo is rushed. The instrumental part
especially in the beginning, could in my opinion, stand to
come down about 10 to 15bpm more. The lyrics also
seem really rushed, but perhaps that is a cultural
difference in my perception.

Really nice work as far as the songwriting goes, and I am
certainly impressed at the age of the composer. The
mastering job, I don't agree is "gorgeous", but that is
really my own opinion, and please don't take that as a
personal attack on yourself or the writer. I just think that
it sounds really airy and again that could be an attribution
to the medium for which it was intended.

Overall, really cool and different track here. I always like
to hear things that are "different" sounding, and forgive
my criticisms if you are at all inclined to take them to
heart.

Perhaps more cowbell should be used? By the way, what
is this thing about cowbell? You left that comment on my
track "Flunked Up", and I am really confused. I would
appreciate if you could let me know what you were
referring to, because really my posting here at MacJams is
intended solely for improvement purposes.

Tempo seems too fast
Interesting. I had already slowed the vocal part down from 140 to 130 bpm, but
I agree, the intro still sounds slightly fast. Maybe I could have written something
in 8th notes instead of 16ths. That would subjectively slow it down too.
