KISMET- i forgot to tell ya...
The vocal range thing has to do with genetics mostly. It's all attributed to the length and width of your vocal cords. I happen to be a freak of nature and have a set of cords that allows wide range. You can work on range some with technical vocal triaining, but most range is just there because of the vocal cord structure you already have.

i have tried to do Pop, and it is very hard to make it sound this good. this sounds straight off a record (which it is. your first?) it takes more than talent to make it work, but a special sort of ear you have, and an abilility to control your voice. you are flawless. i see you are working on your second album of original material. what would be cool is sharing any drafts, not yet produced stuff, to get input before you go into the studio and make it sound as great as this. there are very creative people here and they'd love to help out any way they can. welcome! Thanks for the great feedback. This is not my first record... it's my most recent work tho. I have release 2 records so far (one was a Christmas project). I am working on my second CD of original compositions. Yes, contrary to popular belief, it's quite hard to do good Pop music. Making songs that are global, engaging, enjoyed by many people from all spectrums, which is thoughtful... is harder to do than most think! Pop has gotten a bad name because of the current Pop on radio, which is sad. There are many brilliant Pop jems out there! I am really glad this song spoke to you! I do my very best!

First, you have a great voice... serious pop star stuff.
Everything else is also excellent and of commercial quality.
While this kind of music isn't usually to my taste for casual
listening it was still a pleasure to listen to. The layers of
sounds play together and off of each other wonderfully,
creating a very lush experience.

LOL illuminati. I', heading down to the Seattle Hilton to see if there are any
valet parking jobs opening up for something to do in my spare time.
It's perhaps the best piece I've ever heard hear, although it wasn't done on
GB. It's just really high quality. "Album quality", not demo.
This shows also what a pro producer can do. Not to take anything away from
Ms. Brown, who is going to "move some product".
Being quite attractive isn't going to hurt those chances either.

As for the setup... Mac G4 with StudioVison, couple of rack mount modules, AT4040 Mic, Avalon M5 Mic Pre, some plugins for mastering and as you so keenly noticed.... an amazing producer/engineer. My man Jeremy is one of the most talented guys in the business and I am so proud to work with him! He's amazing and it's great to find someone with the same vision to share this musical journey with!

No I didn't use Garageband. I used a Mac G4 with StudioVison, couple of rack mount modules, AT4040 Mic, Avalon M5 Mic Pre, some plugins for mastering. My producer is the best tho. He can make some pretty awesome 'clean' recordings out of not much.

I see you are in the US touring company of one of my most favorite musicals! Phantom is such a wonderful musical. It was the first musical I saw a professional house perform and I wore out my Phantom CD after I saw it. I saw the Canadian company do it in Vancouver when I was a kid. I used to drive my Mum nuts singing all those high notes Christine sings! LOL It was a riot. I'd try to break glass... just ended up shaking the dishes in the cabinet tho! I really enjoy the songs from that musical. I bet you've had some wonderful adventures playing horn for the US company. All the best with your shows!

Where am I from: I am from Canada, but I work with a producer in Maryland. I kinda travel back and forth from Toronto, ON in Canada to MD and other parts of the US as I need to.
Who is my producer: I work with an awesome producer named Jeremy Rwakaara. Just look him up on Google if you want more info.

Yes I do write all my own music and lyrics. I co-write with my parenter Jeremy on all my material.
What roles did you play in making your music and cd.
I basically have a hand in everything from the writing to the production to the marketing, design, promotions.... everything. I co-run my own record label with my partner/producer. So pretty much, I leave my fingerprints on everythang!
