Description:
This was written as an experiment working with orchestral textures and some new sounds I got for my ESQ-1; namely a really nice bagpipe sound and a very "woody" sounding recorder. I came up with the title later... the music sort of reminded me of that Scottish melancholy and Mary's bad end. Recorded in 1986.

Hardware:
Ensoniq ESQ-1
Roland D110
Yamaha REX50 (fx)

Software:
Opcode Vision 2.x

I love this one &mdash 07/14/05 - 11:23:19 AM
You obviously have some talent. The samples and the
intruments you use in this one sound much better. The
dynamics are there as well as the expression. I marked this
one as a favorite.

Wonderful tone poem &mdash 07/21/05 - 09:34:14 AM
Wonderful tone poem. Masterful use of synth tech. I had an
ESQ1 and have the Roland 220, but getting this sort of
realism is a trick. Nicely done. The opening is a little distant,
and the space between the intro and the second movement
(as the wind blows) is kind of long for Internet listeners. Most
of the movement is from chord progressions, and my ear
prefers melodic phrases, so I hear this more as a Cinematic
scoring. But this is a top notch piece.

very well done &mdash 08/27/07 - 09:13:16 PM
A very rich and dynamic celtic piece. It reminds me a little bit of the Braveheart, in a good way, haha.

It is lovely &mdash 07/24/08 - 10:37:25 AM
Longer than I was given to expect so an added bonus. It does sound like something an orchestra would present for a special occasion and would do as a film score.Thank you.
