Description
I decided that since my 'Hand That Feeds' remix was basically a completely separate song that happened to have Trent's vocal line over it, I would just finish what I started and remove the last remaing bit of NIN material. So, here is a slightly revised, all-instrumental version that, if you didn't know better, you'd never guess was chordally compatible with Trent's singing on THTF :)

Nice Composition
Particularly liked the second half. Pretty melody atop a
pleasing progression. There is however, something that I
don't like much. You've got a percussion instrumetnt,
perhaps meant to sound like hitting a block of wood or
something, that, at least to me, detracts from the
composition as a whole. Other than that, I thought it was
pretty good.

Nice Composition
Thanks for the comment... glad you liked the tune. I think it must be the snare drum sample you are referring to -- I guess I can see how it could be a little sharp sounding to some. I sort of tune it out when I listen, possibly due to the abundance of jagged-sounding drums in some of the music I listen to. I'll play with the EQing of it a bit and see if I can smooth it a little in future mixdowns.

Awesome!
This sounded very 8 bit to me. Almost like you composed
this on a Gameboy using LSDJ. Also reminded me a little
of Freezepop, who sequence all their tracks on a Yamaha
QY-70.

This could be the "feel good" jam of the year!!! Excellent
electropop! Faved and DL'd!

Awesome!
Thanks! Those are exactly the sorts of tones I was going for. I've never
actually messed with Gameboy sequencing, but I'd like to. In the meantime,
I'm trying to get some similar tones between use of bitcrusher and samples
from the old Casio. But yeah, I've not only heard of Freezepop, but am a fan!
And if you're into 8-bit tunes, check out micromusic.net if you haven't
already... some of the stuff there is really pretty good. The rest is.. uh...
interesting :)

OK...
I'm in love with this track! I don't know what it is, maybe
its the the primitive sounds that you were trying to
achieve. There's something about 8 bit sound that just
makes me smile.

After many listens, I must congratulate you, this is by far
the best "electronica" jam on the site.

Different
This is different in a good way. It reminds of me of the music
of a NES game I used to play. I can't put my finger on it
though. I like though

Very unique!
I havn't noticed you before on MacJams, until N.O.W. posted that
members should stop by and give you a listen. I'm glad I did. I liked
this very much and the sound is very unique. I especially liked how
everything started to really harmonize towards the 3/4 mark. It's funny
that you are using a Casio SK-1. I used to have one of those quite
some time ago. I saw in a very old issue of Keyboard magazine,
someone had converted it to MIDI. A hole was cut in the rear of its
casing and a MIDI plug soldered to the board somehow. Not sure of the
specifics, but it was done. Just a little bit of info left over from the later
80s I guess. Anyway, back to your song. I really enjoyed it. It has a nice
melody that doesn't get too complex and distracting. It actually
mellowed me out a bit tonight. I'll have to go and have a listen to your
other posts. I'm glad I stopped by. Cheers!

xenon
the choice of sounds here serves a great purpose in providing a minimal
backdrop for the melodies to really reflect on. it's like a xenon headlight
that's fallen in love. which i might have done here- wonderful little ditty
that really speaks to me. nice little touch of reverb takes this out of a
vacuum and makes chamber music. great track! you've caught my
interest!

I'm sort of an off-center electronica fan, and like a good rock tune too. Either one needs to be out of the ordinary with something innovative about it to really grab me. Maybe a new instrument tone, or some juxtoposition of sounds I had never ... [see more]
