Description:
This is a song that expresses a kind of carefree realization that hit me while I was wakling to lecture one morning in the Spring in Ontario.

Special credits to Pete Ryan who recorded the lead guitar, bass, and the drum parts for the mix.

Lyrics:
An unsure sun
bleeds through an insecure mist
expressionless
a bit too distant to be felt
but still lifelessly breathtaking
Escaping presence near
of new taken at will chances

Broken upon hope in a
comfortable touch of sadness
within a quiet unity of apathetic compassions
Another gentle shade of grey
over surrounds its own complete existence

just maybe once
to the end of a deep breath
the air would be still cold
a way of being innocently oblivious
a way to stay
until the last hideaway ambiance unfold
and before the rising sky could even notice
a way to dearly hold
all precious irresponsibilities
and all semi-impassive excuses
a way to let the trustworthy face
recognize none of its promises
a way that a free being would pray
more or less

Taking in the whole &mdash 07/20/05 - 07:22:34 AM
Reminded me of Joni Mitchel music, with kind of jazzy
feelings, decisive guitar chording, and some man breaking in
with a sudden guitar solo to break the reverie (oh, wait, that
would be a comment on her private life). You do a really
good job coming out of the fast part, but breaking into it
was kind of jarring. By the end, I liked everything you did.

Poetic and well shaped &mdash 07/21/05 - 09:46:29 AM
Great to hear from you after so long a break! Your songs
have such strong writing, and this is no exception. A nice
combination of melody, pop progressions, nice pacing,
texture changes that give the song a sense of storytelling
and evolution of emotions. The lyrics have this conscious-
streaming Haiku, full of visuals and poetically surprising
word juxtapositions. Your vocals struggle with pitch and
diction and focus, but are truly honest. Thoughtful piece.
Really like the writing and arranging.
