Description
This is a song I wrote a few years ago- only just got round to recording it. For those moments when you are lost at sea.

Hmmm
Quite a nice, innoffensive little tune you've got there,
unfortunately let-down by a pretty bad mix. The whole
thing sounds really flat, as if somebody accidentally set
the mid-range on the graphic to 'zero'. As a result the
bass line is almost non-existent, instruments are hardly
there, and the whole piece sounds really muddy. Too
much top as well.

It's a shame because you have a nice voice! (My suspicion
is that this wasn't done in Garageband - I used to own an
old Fostex 4-Track when I was a teenager, which used to
give pretty similar results.)

Good job on a nice little song though!

Nice voice...
Nicely put-together song too... I agree with Leebo that
there is something peculier about the mix; the
instrumentation is definately a little muddy, although the
bass level seems ok to me; but it's a great start. People
wiser than me can usually comment more constructively if
you add some recording details...

The songwriting's good...
...and the vocals are solid, although I want some part
where you cut loose. I have the sense that you have the
chops to give this more dynamics...

There is something odd with the mix. Too much
compression? Each element is good...in tune and in time...

And I find that I want more variation in the drums, less of
the middle sizzle on those sizzles...and more meat on the
electric guitar...

It's like...I know it's in there...this is good stuff...But on my
set-up, anyway, it sits inside the speakers a little...

Keep messin' with it!

nice tune
the mix sounds OK to me, perhaps it depends what you are listening on. like the atmospheric use of the strings and good vocals too. Look forward to hearing some more tunes.
