Description:
She's a girl who knows what she wants to be, so I can't explain why the girl wants me.
Lyrics:
She's got a wave and a smile
and that little skip in her step
She's always right on in style
Her answers usually start with 'you bet'
She's a girl who's got it going on
No matter what she does it's never wrong
She's just a girl who knows what she wants to be
So I can't explain why the girl wants me
No I can't explain why the girl wants me
She's got a wave and a smile
and always something to say
runs only once in a while
but she just won the charity 10K
Now she's washing her car
Though it's really not very dirty
She's tuned to NPR
tonight she's hosting dinner for thirty
(Chorus)
So I'm putting down the remote
eating nothing but Quaker Oats
I bought some new sweats
at the sporting goods store
I'm working out and I wanna shout
I can give this girl so much more
I want to give this girl so much more
(guitar solo)
When she helps out at the school
the students all can't help but cheer
then she lifeguards the pool
after class she's a bloodbank volunteer
(Chorus)

Great writing... &mdash 07/22/05 - 09:27:35 AM
Sort of Fountains Of Wayne-ish and a bit of Squeeze in
your middle eight too. Great performance. Your vocal -
which is fine - sounds slightly out of the mix somehow
but I don't have enough technical know-how to say.
Excellent stuff though... [ Reply to This ]

I think the recording of the vocals may have been picking up the room acoustics
a little. [ Reply to This ]

You guys are great! Such a well done, catchy tune. Excellent
all around. Always such good performances too.

nice singin &mdash 07/23/05 - 08:11:48 AM
Like that voice, I like the way it picks up . . fun.
Love that 12 string sound, not sure if it is or not but really
like that sound. Very catchy, love the words, fun words to
hear.
Catchy lead hook towards 3/4 of the way through. That was
incredibly radio friendly lead guitar hook. [ Reply to This ]
Great piece of pop writing! &mdash 07/23/05 - 06:31:34 PM
Love the 12 string sound, the lyrics and the vocals. Agree
about the vox - needs to be spread across the mix
somehow (maybe copy the track and do a L/R pan - not
that I'd know, this is just what I'd try!). I really like this -
thetiler says it all "very radio friendly".

Perfect retro pop from the golden age &mdash 07/25/05 - 07:56:01 AM
Wonderful retro pop, from the golden age of rock pop music,
unpretentious, happy, great beat. Well done. Your tune
Conversation is one of the highlights of the entire site. Your
songs are always so well compressed, with such high audio
levels; how do you do that without it sounding over-
compressed? [ Reply to This ]
