Description:
Man regrets his evil ways....

Lyrics:
After all the smoke had cleared
it was clear she was leaving me
and even through the bottom of a bottle
lord I could clearly see
that I had wasted all her time
and left her all alone
that I had stipped her of her pride
and cut her to the bone.

anna, anna, anna of mine
you know I'd change my ways but I was too cheap to spend the dime
anna, anna, anna of mine
you know I'd spill my blood just to know you were doing fine.

Now days they turn to weeks
and weeks roll right along
and all I've got is this cheap swayde suit
and the words to this song
been hanging out with ramblers, gamblers,
and no good women too
but I know it's all I deserve
after what I put you through

anna, anna, anna of mine
you know I'd change my ways but I was too cheap to spend the dime
anna, anna, anna of mine
you know I'd spill my blood just to know you were doing fine.

Well done! &mdash 07/26/05 - 02:02:44 PM
The lead guitar is a little too loud in the solo portion but that is my only gripe.

DL/9s!

thanks for your comments, as I continue to listen to this one, there is alot more that I want it to be, the guitar solo was a tricky part and I am still trying to find the best method of mixing down my tracks. I used to let them all play for hours on end and just try and straighten them all out to where I thought it sounded good, the way I mixed this song was a lot different, I started with the drums, got them where I wanted them, then mixed in each track individually, starting next with the bass and then the other rythm instruments. This seemed to get me to a balanced level much quicker. How do you do your mixdowns?? Do you ever listen to an album that you love the sound of and try to match it?

Mostly hit or miss for me. As far as Mixdown goes. Sometimes I'll get it exactly where I want it then I'll send it to iTunes and It totally blows away the EQ levels. So, I just keep trying till I've got something I like.

I've listened to both of your songs and I think you're very talented. Welcome to Mac Jams!

Instant classic &mdash 07/27/05 - 11:25:31 AM
Such a great Dylan style love song. Love the lyrics too. Your
delivery is perfect, the pace, everything. Since you may
rework the track: I really like the track, but in my ears some
of the sounds don't quite work together, aren't all in the
same space, which is nice for an intimate tune like this.
Varying effects and levels, timing issues. Also, a real bass
player would vary the line more and maybe even play with
pick-up notes. I really like the song. Instant classic.

good comments, so which sounds sound out of sync or seperated from each other?? Everything is me playing except the drums and percussion, I did all the bass and 3 different guitars, but I think you have a good point. I have a hard time intigrating the feel of the garage band drums and perccussion with the sound and feel of my real instruments. It seems like when I record with garage band, everything that was loose and funky and live turns into square, tight, produced pop magic, I'm not really going for that sound/ feel anyways, what do you think about all that??

Great! &mdash 08/12/05 - 12:01:37 PM
The lyrics and performance are great! The mix could use a
little work, but I understand that mixing can be a long
repetitive process at times; great song!
