Great arrangement... really really lovely.
Good call ronnielong.
Tom Atwood
Excellent. As has been said, beautful arrangement,
haunting. The stark simplicity here is perfect. One favor -
could you please post lyrics? Thanks!
Classic.

Just read this is a work in progress, so I do have one minor suggestion.
Having worked with that Fitch Cello in several pieces of my own, I can tell you
it needs a lot of 'massaging' to get rid of the synthy, sometimes abrasive
sound. Mainly, adding expression by adjusting volume levels during
sustained notes, so they 'swell' and 'ebb' at times, instead of a flat, constant
volume. Although, maybe that's what you're after in this piece?
Willywagga
Thank you for all the nice words about my song and the observations regarding
the Fitch Cello, I agree, to a degree. I intentionally kept the lyrics simple and
non-clever because I think it's the only way I can approach the subject matter,
as starkly simple as possible. In a second revision things might change, if we are
all still here. I'll post the lyrics when I'm fully happy with them.
Thank again for listening and voting.
PEACE.

Great song, really well written and performed. Reminded me
of the opening title sequence in Fahrenheit 911. Excellent.

You're off to a great start with this work in progress.
Powerful, direct lyrics. The arrangement is wonderful. I
love how the verses transition to the beautiful choruses.
Very well sung and played. Clean up the creaks and clicks
and other noises that were captured in the recording. I
love the cello in there but at times, especially at the end, it
is played much too high for it's normal range which makes
it sound too synthetic. I'd bring it down an octave or two.
Overall, it sounds really good and is effective in conveying
its message in a moving way. I like this a lot and look
forward to hearing the final version.

A brilliant, haunting folk workout.
That Rove - what a scumbag.

I'm glad you all like my song, thanks pgreenstone I do think towards the end the
cello hits some shrill notes, I will work on those and try to soften and enrich the
sound in places, I have a few ideas where I want it to go; soundwise.
I feel encouraged by the kind comments from you all.

..for all its directness, this song has heart, feeling, a sense of
poetry...its repetition works for it...
Some folks who do topical songs are hamfisted and obvious;
the songs end up being rants. This one speaks from heart to
heart...You can't 'argue' it away...
I like your singing very much.

Mr. Rove. Nice lyrics. Made me feel hopeless.
Unfortunately.
Great song. It has a cold simplicity that seems to really fit
the subject matter. You state the obvious simply. You did
a nice job with the mix of strings.
Rebsie
Great song, lovely arrangement. The guitar and cello work
beautifully together and the vocal is heartfelt and lovely.
Very nicely done ... I look forward to hearing where you
take it next.
great song Willie. can't wait to hear the final version. keep up the good work !!

Perfect all around, singing, instruments, compositon. Everyone has said all the stuff, I needn't repeat. I wish you could sing this song without saying that dude's name,
but I suppose singing ....White House deputy chief of staff you're a ......is a little much.
Your really good, man.
Looking foward to your next

i Love this song and I think I connect mostly with the voice, reminds me a lot of Nick Drake, especially with the cello attached, very emotional and real, I'm a huge fan of Drake and any reminder is always good. Agree with most of the comments about the cello levels, lower would make it sweeter, although with your content, "shrill" might be the way to go.
Thanks for sharing, good job.

thanks for writing this tune. the subject matter is great with a perfect presentation. we need more songwriters like you Willy! Thanks for sharing.

You might think about changing the category to Political,
though it also fits squarely here. Fine heartfelt performance.
You've got me thinking about posting a piece I did about
Bush - I finished it just before the election, and right after -
it might have been a bit too - err - sour. Anyway, nice job.
I'd like to hear a verse that directly deals w/ the Valerie
Wilson (ne Plame) issue, if you could fit it into a subsequent
version.

Thanks Ka for the positive comments, so far I wasn't really being specific about
anything at all, mostly I'm probably trying to suggest that Mr Rove's general
world policy is causing the increasing hysteria we are seeing on the planet
today, London brought this home to me very clearly, desperate people, terrible
people, doing terrible things, Rove is the principle architect of this terror in our
world today, and we don't matter at all. This is my belief and the simple
message in the song. Thanks for listening and thanks to everyone for the great
comments, I was half expecting the song to get flamed and I'm very glad it
wasn't. I hope to have a new version in a few weeks.
Post your Bush song, go on.

OK, it's been posted - just come get me out of gitmo when it gets posted 'k?

...then the terrorists win.
This is awesome. I love the lyrics. The backing music is very
fitting. For a work in progress, this is great. Can't wait to
hear the finsihed product/

Hypnotizing just spirals around and around in and out far
out . You have a great ear for composing and putting
together music and music that is so in touch with your
words. Then you give to this the gift of your voice to go with
it. All of which just melds into each-other so well and then
takes the listener along with the journey. In other words I
like this very much Thank-you for sharing Kind regards

Thank you very much for your kind comments Laine, they are inspiring.

but I had trouble making out the words in the chorus. (If you
could add the lyrics to the description, that'd help)
Nevertheless, quite a nice tune. Thanks!

Excellent as is... I wouldn't change a thing. This is reminiscent of I Am Kloot. Peace!

Wow, talk about brilliant - And where have you been hidding - Or is
me - I wonder what you mean by, 'work in progress' - This is
wonderful as is - I love the way it just steps through it - Kind of a
casual strole by a sure footed victim...
I really like this - Thanks for sharing - Dion

Yes man, this song has really nailed me to the ground. Amazing simplicity (not obvious, 'cause simplicity is complex), catching lyrics, haunting voice and a very well structured track in general. Greatly pleased I have discovered this one.

Wow, I'm impressed!
Your voice is excellent and the music has such a smooth, beautiful sadness to it. The lyrics are perfect and without saying much, it says it all. Good Flow!
