High Lonesome Welcome to MacJams Mow Me Down. As you may notice, there is very little bluegrass posted here. In fact, bluegrass is lumped in with Country, but I think that's going to change soon when the genres are expanded. This has a very nice, clean sound. Good mix and vocals. Thanks for posting. Ooh, I'm a sucker for a mandolin Great tune, great vibe. What comes across most is how 'together' you sound as a band ... the instruments all making their own contribution, sounding carefree and bouncy but very tight and slick. I was WONDERING... ...where the bluegrass was... Nicely done, guys. The blend is good, the swing feels right, vocals are great. There was one spot where I wanted the guitar to come forward for the solo, but that's nit- picking... I'll have to bookmark your page and start checking it... Hey, what's the difference between a mandolin and a trampoline? (You have to take off your shoes before you jump on a trampoline....) Sorry. Mean playin' You're all obviously excellent musicians - this is played with great verve and style and no one tries to dominate. However, I do have comments to make on recording quality and arrangement: the track seems to stay at one level all the way through and I would suggest paying more attention to varying the texture (e.g. pairing back to just guitar and fiddle for a few bars) On the other hand the way you played it is probably the way you meant it to sound - either way I still enjoyed this track a lot.
