This song is dedicated to anyone that has insomnia, apnea or any other sleep disorder.
It is best listened to very late at night with a good pair of headphones on. After a glass of wine or other enhancing substance. I trust that it will still sound okay at other times.

Sliding blues licks are like....
shooting stars in the dark night sky. Bronco, this a
really nice piece. You capture that late night... I'm
tired but awake feel. I just dig the way the music
just meanders along with sliding guitar trading off
with that echoing harmonica. And your vocal has just
the right low level energy to it to complete the mood.
I listen again later... musch later tonight.

Has a lovely nightmarish quality
This is a very well-crafted song, Tom. Nice harp, nice
creepy "dobro." Your vocal has a calm, yet maniacal
quality. Was glad to hear that line, "No one kills for a thrill
in the quiet air." Sounds like some people at least think
about it.

Excellent. You have come so far, I believe, since that first
song you posted months ago. This could be one of your

Has a lovely nightmarish quality
Thanks Tom. When I wrote this song I thought it was a throwaway. I liked it
but didn't think anyone else would. Don't know where some of those lines
came from. I do remember that when I first started it, I was going through
one of those times where I only got three or four hours sleep for a couple of
weeks. That will indeed drive you crazy!

	Love the effects Hey, the harmonica and string effects are way cool. My only suggestion for improvement is to get your voice more relaxed or lower the song a semitone or two. It's a little bit wavery in places. A great song. And excellent lyrics. Way to go, bronco.

Night owl me
You captured my fav time of the night quite well. I'm used
to getting harrassed about my kept hours, but now I have
something to reference my friends to when this happens.
"Nobody argues facts" I love that. No need to be right
here, it's just that nothing matters that much in "the quiet
time of the night". I LOVE the over all feel to this. Maybe
theis will be my anthem to play just after say, 12:45 A.M
when half the world starts to go deeply away and the
other half is too far away to care...

I absolutely LOVE this tune!

Thanks Alan! I get very frustrated with the genre thing myself. This one
started out in blues because it seems they want all my songs there no matter
what I think but then I said the hell with it and changed to folk rock. In
thinking back on it, a great many songwriters I love wouldn't fit in these
categories either. Randy Newman could be rock, pop, blues, show tunes,etc.
well you know what I mean.

That was my first thought too!

This is a very sweet song, and your voice reminds me a lot of later-day David Byrne (not with the Talking Heads so much but more of the solo stuff he's doing now).

I used to work at a suicide hotline and this song would have been perfect for those overnight shifts where my co-worker was asleep and the phones were silent and I felt like the only person awake, or even alive, in the world at that moment.

Kills for a Thrill?
It's a great tune, well sung and well played. I'm fairly critical
of lyrics but I like yours, all except for the last line. That one
seems forced, disjointed, or some such. Fairly minor point
but I thought I'd raise it nevertheless. The tune overall is
quite pleasant and is a very good match for the picture
you're trying to paint.

Kills for a Thrill?
Good ear and eye! I would have to give you a 10 as a reviewer on this one.
The kill for a thrill line was a last minute addition right before recording when
I realized the last verse didn't follow the 3 lines 2 lines of the other verses but
had 2lines, 2 lines. In fact I think it might have even been improvised as I was
singing. If I ever re-record I will probably change that line as I agree with you.
However, a few folks did seem to like it, so who knows? Thanks for listening

I'm writing this in the morning, but I thought you'd like to
know your song plays fine in the quiet time of the morning,
too, after the enhancement of coffee. That spooky dobro
sound does a great job of capturing the essence of time and
place. I'd argue the most powerful line in the lyrics is "no one
kills for a thrill" as it gets right down to a philosophical core
of why the quiet moment of the night is extraordinary. But I
also like the conundrum of "the silence gets so loud." If
snoring is considered a sleep disorder, then this song is
dedicated to me.

quiet afternoons, too
This plays well on a quiet, overcast Sunday afteernoon, too.

The general sentiment is one I quite agree with. I grew up in
a tiny, midwestern town (about 140 people) and though I live
in a small city with a quarter of a million people in it, and commute
to a larger city to work, I have a deeply-seated love of solitude
that nobody seems to understand.

...and it does especially come out of me at night.
