Description
This is mostly a tune to show off the ES2 synthesizer. By the end of the tune there are 8 of them layered. All effects are also the built-in Logic plugs. The drums are Ultrabeat, so this is pretty much a Logic-only tune.

Dynamic keyboard tune
Starts of spacy then kind of goes a bit fusion....a good
workout for your synth! Lots going on to keep the ears
occupied. Thanks for sharing

Go
Reminds me of some Stomu Yomashta at first and then
opens up for a more 'pop' feel - excellent layering of the
synths and overall production.
This sounds like a section of a longer piece?

I haven't played with the ES2 or Ultrabeat yet - I'm still
mesmerized by sounds of the Sculpture synth.

pleasant surprise
i expected to hear the techno sound that i often got from
this site, but it sounded more like a fusion! a pleasant
surprise! it made me want to buy Logic Pro.... only if i
could afford it.... damn thing is so bloody expensive!
still, darn good sound!

More than a dance track
More than a dance tune. This is very nice movement. Nice
synth sounds and energy. It doesn't have the sort of beat a
normal dance tune has, but, in my ears, is far more pleasant
and interesting to listen to. Nice use of synth voices.

More than a dance track
Thanks for listening and commenting everyone.

I started this piece probably 2 years ago, when I bought the ES2. Around the
time of Logic 5 you could actually buy separate instruments.

I had a few existing pieces in mind when I wrote this. One had that contrast
between a slow pad and the fast drums. The other was a jazz big band that
had a sax solo running through most of it, with trumpets and trombones
coming in for the theme.

So with all that together, plus the fact that no matter what I try to imitate it
always comes out sounding different.....

Would love to hear
this one played by a live band, something like the gang
Herbie Mann put together in the late 70s. I agree with
Tobin, too. Saddling this one with a "dance" label doesn't
do its jazz roots justice. Great composition, though,
whatever you call it.

In accord
Have to agree with some of the other feedback - to me this
is jazzy rather than dance - reminded me a bit of Weather
Report and Jean-Luc Ponty (without the fiddle of course).
Excellent build and phrasing

Nice
Hi this really made me feel I was listening to a blend of the 70's and 2000.
It is a really nice mix of sounds that blend and wash through eachother.
Jazz slashing the early hours of the morning away travelling very visual
and busy with being over complicated with your different blends of
sound. I really really like this as I sit hear playing for the second time.
Thankq for sharing kind regards laine*
