Description:
I originally posted this song in the Open Collaboration category. Seniór Ziti took me up on it and added the stunningly perfect guitar and posted the song again on his page. I took Ziti's mix and IRie Mixed it one more time, adding some bass that fell out and pulling some of the harsher marimba and percussion hits that were somewhat distracting. I also post processed (very slightly) some of Ziti's guitar works and some of the percussion. I think this version has a little better balance without losing anything in the translation.

I am playing Bass, Percussion, Marimba and Organ...Ziti is playing guitar, guitar and guitar!!

Dang Ziti...I just love this tune!

Oh so coooool! &mdash 08/04/05 - 03:15:30 PM
Not familiar with the previous versions but this mix sounds
bang on the money to me - very atmospheric and ever so
cool.

Something that occurs to me (perhaps rather radical) is to
actually drop out some of the guitar and just have the back
for some bars - this way the guitar has more impact when it
comes back and there's more textural variation.

good combinations &mdash 08/06/05 - 05:42:26 AM
Two people are the good combinations. It swings very well. Happiness of performance.
By the way, do you like deserted houses?
I want to see the house in this photograph.

This House... &mdash 08/07/05 - 10:30:20 AM
Is the house my mother and her brothers grew up in, the
house we all visited and played in as children, a house
that survived several generations of our family. It was a
big house, with a big front porch and a spooky creeky atic
filled with mysteries. There was a swing on the front porch
where we spent many summer evenings looking at the
fireflys and the stars and the beautiful old trees that
surrounded the property. I can still smell the aroma of my
grandmothers sugar cookies coming through the
windows, and hear the squeals of all the children playing
in the yard

This is a photo taken of the house after it was destroyed
by a tornado last May. The porch, the swing, the trees all
gone, nothing left but the memories.

Happiness of performance! &mdash 08/07/05 - 10:33:36 AM
I continue to love the poetry of Tadashi's comments...I
was experimenting this morning with writing a song
based ONLY on Tadashi's comments strung together...

And then there's this...more beauty in minimalism...just
the thing it is...

This is not my usual listening fare, but I find myself
bopping along to it...Enjoying it...the rhythm and groove
is so good...and ziti phrases so nicely....

Gotta go back and listen to the last one...

Thanks for the heads up on the new mix, Blaine!

Wonderful &mdash 08/25/05 - 04:53:23 PM
Love the marimba. And truly excellent guitar playing - not
only because of the accomplished playing but also for
having such a great feel for what fits with the rest of the
track. A new favourite. :O)
