Description:
Made this song a while ago. This recording is with my earlier band "BBABES". The recording is done at NRK (Norwegian Broadcast Corp.) in 1994. Got a few radio plays in the local dep. of NRK.

BBABES used to be:
Vocal: Ingve Sandvold
Guitar: Thor Oliversen (thoddi)
Guitar: Jon Oerjan Gilje
Bass: Roald Brekke
Drums: Joern Dahle
Backing vocals: Anne Furubotn

I'll soon be posting a new version of this hopefully with a collab from a female macjammer...

Lyrics:
A cool wind
Moving my toughts along the shore.
Hot licks, from a bluesy guitar.

Over and over,
seasons repeat.
You, be my summer when the
cold wind comes from the north.

It´s those things,
the small things in life.
Memories of summers,
they are like gold.

I know the sun is the source to all the
life we know.
But if I didn´t have the sun I´d learn
to live without.
‘Cause I have you.
I love you.

Then comes December.
And the colors turn pale.
The man in the radio,
plays a song from July.

Hey, suddenly the winter melted away.
It´s good to dream the snow to a place
that´s fare from here.

Lovely song. I like the combination of pop and rock here. The
vocals are especially good. Excellent production.

This a very relaxing. Like how you go into "It's those

I've been listening to your songs lately... &mdash 08/08/05 - 12:36:49 AM
and one of the things I love, that's especially present here, is that you manage to evoke the 70's as well as make the song sound completely contemporary and original.

This is just so laid back and warm and lovely. I must download it immediately!

This is so nice to read ledebutant:) I have strong relations to music from that period, and I listen much to all kinds of music made today. The music here at macjams is also a great influence. I feel I have to reach to be a little better each time I post, 'cause you all are such good reviewers and musicians that I want to give my best every time.
I'm especially honored when people download my songs.
Thanks, I will go listen to your stuff now:)

Summer all year long &mdash 08/08/05 - 08:46:05 AM
Such a nice summer feel, like Girl From Ipanema, with great
bass playing, and wonderful electric guitar morsels. The
female backing is very nice, altho not as tight as my ears
wanted. You vocals are mic'd just right, and the sound on the
instruments is very well done; another wonderful audio treat
from you, Thor. Relaxing, gently hip, very nice track.

My favorite part... &mdash 08/10/05 - 06:31:14 PM
...is the acoustic guitar against the electric guitar, and
then the deep, thunky bass coming in...

To my ears, there is much of It's A Beautiful Day, (maybe
some Sweetwater) and some unexpected echoes of Dan
Hicks and His Hot Licks in this...Especially in the female
vocals for the latter...I almost expect a Stefan Grappelli
violin solo...the electric with compressed sustain gives
some of that feel....

It is, however, considered unfair in MY culture, to fade out
the guitar solo...

A very nice song, thoddi...

This is goooooooood! Very Sweet. Nice vocal work by both
of you. Like the melody and the way warmth really pours
in w/ the drum and bass at about 2/3 through. Very nice
g'tar playin and just a very tasty treat to my ears. Really
diggin the g'tar work. I just read the lyrics cause it's the
last that thing I pay attention to. All together,
instrumental arrangement is the perfect accompaniment
to the lyrics. Did I mention how much I'm diggen the 'tar
work...

Nice job!
