Description:
a new summer song. i have 3 new ones and it was time to stop working on this one.

Lyrics:
i saw o hundred cars pass the house today
the baby counted seven airplanes
we watched a storm roll in from the southwest
and we gave each other brand new names
the sun goes across the sky
its the most beautiful thing
so we were dancing in the front yard
with the speakers in the window
glowing from the headlight s
of our neighbors coming home
i's taking out the garbage every sunday night
i walk into the kitchen and you are standing there
well how do you fail to see
crafty ol me
sit down here in the flower bed
you're not going anywhere
ill get you an ice coffee and we can shed a tear
it's been so long sense i have broken into your beautiful mind
i feel every-things so unspoken
its time to peel away the Rhine
the river that brought us here has all dried up in the heat
but there's still enough water left
to cool our feet
i know there's all sorts of time
but some time isn't so clear
everyone is right when they say that the past is always here
so i am finding you in bed
and you are sleeping on my side
i'll take that as a sign

Classic tmcfate &mdash 08/07/05 - 10:40:01 PM
A great piece, Tim. I really like the slice-of-life, stream-
of-consciousness lyrics. Some great lines here. And the
artwork. Everything is working for me. I'm glad to see a
new tmcfate song. Looking forward to the other new ones
on the way.

Great imagery!
All held together in a Pavement sort of way
With a Flaming Lips delivery.
Nice work.

Dylan lives &mdash 08/08/05 - 04:36:07 AM
Nice tune, reminds me on the early Bob Dylan. Perhaps you could have produced it a little bit more earthy, more "acoustic"! I think it would fit perfect on the tune to give space in several parts and I`m pretty sure it would become more "airy"!

Yes, Kudos. &mdash 08/10/05 - 01:10:15 PM
I love how you always manage to do something new with your songs, yet they've always got that classic "tmcfate" thing going on. As always, I love it. Your layering of vocals is always refreshing and original...the megaphone-ish bit works well in this song. I love the dreamy synth in the background, too.

Family &mdash 08/10/05 - 02:21:15 PM
I always enjoy the storytelling about family life in your
songs. Always colorful and uplifting. This is a real nice
song with some great melodies and structure and
performances. It really puts me in that place and makes
me feel good.

I'd ease up a bit on the use of the bullhorn tones on the
vocals. They get to be a bit harsh, especially when they
pile on with the distorted guitar. Use it much more
sparingly, particularly in the latter portion. Your voice
naturally has a good edge to it so I think mixing it warmer
and more clean will present it better.

Much enjoyed.

absolutely brilliant.. &mdash 08/10/05 - 04:50:03 PM
Was looking forward to your next song! I love your work.
Love the voice layering and the bridge.
Your talent is inspirational. Your lyrics remind me of
Springsteen - you tell a great story.

Lyrics always a slice of real life &mdash 09/14/05 - 05:54:40 AM
Your lyrics always provide a wonderful scene and fill me with
thoughts. When I see your name attached to a tune, I take
that as a sign... Good tune.

Another great song &mdash 11/12/05 - 06:28:10 AM
Been enjoying your songs for a while now, thought it was time to post a
comment. You stand out because you're not afraid to be you. Your voice
cracks on some notes but you sing from the heart and that's the most
important thing. Great writing, wonderful images. More more more!
