Description:

Lyrics:
I'M HOLDING YOUR PICTURE

Gentle breeze dancing through my open window
curtains sway softly to the light
as I lean back on my bed images of you are running
through my head

chorus: I'm holding your picture I miss you more than words can (REPEAT 3) More than words can say

All I have left is a small piece of paper filled with colored images, oh how I remember
just to feel you hold me once again would make my day
so much easier

chorus: Repeat

The two of you showed love and understanding
not just to one another but those surrounding
I can only hope as I lean back on my bed
won't forget all the words that you've said...

chorus: Repeat

I love the combination of guitar, strings, and her voice.
Soft and dreamy...

Thanks Peter, Brandon told me a Nashville song publishing company is
interested in the tune. She had me read what they said and they seem to ask for
no money up front. At least so far, time will tell I guess.

Thanks snow for stopping by. A receive great joy working with Michelle. Her
voice has that Crystal Gayle feel to it. Being that she plays guitar herself her
voice adapts very well to Betsy my guitar.

This tune was based on a photo of my mom and dad's wedding I gave to her to
explain the picture. They are gone now.

Thanks caroline!

very nice! &mdash 08/11/05 - 09:46:29 AM
You have balanced your great guitar playing, Brandon
Michelle's excellent vocals and the string accompaniment
very well in this tune.

The chord progressions in the verses are very much like
Barry Manilow's song "Can't Smile Without You", but thank
goodness the chords change during the chorus!!

This is a very pleasing song to hear, such a good
combination of talents, and I add my name to the growing
list of people who would like to hear more songs with the
two of you!

Thanks Cameron for stopping by.

That's funny about Barry's tune, I didn't even give it a thought but there is some
similarities. Thanks for tipping me off on that:)

This singing voice is beloved.
The guitar is honestly played.
The stringed instrument is gentle.
Good relation.

Beyond "Dust in the Wind" &mdash 08/12/05 - 08:33:39 AM
It may be just me, but the opening picking pattern reminds
me so much of Dust In The Wind, even tho the very nice
chorus did a great job of deepening the content. The use of
strings is a good instinct, nicely conceived, altho their timing
isn't as precise as my ears wanted (especially in the cello
marcato section. The vocals are a bit muffled and roomy,
especially in headphones, in a different space than the bright
and present guitar playing. Very nice song well arranged. An
excellent collaboration, you two.

Beyond "Dust in the Wind" &mdash 08/13/05 - 04:04:55 PM
Thanks Tobin it was special to work with Brandon, she loves playing the guitar
herself and she has that guitar type voice I think. True, I am a "Dust In The Wind
Fan", I tried to keep that song out of there. But the fingerpicking tecnnique has
some similarities. Thanks

Beautiful! &mdash 08/12/05 - 10:02:50 AM
Very nice work TT & B!

It totally resonates with me, because I just came back
from dropping off film to be developed to have only a
picture of my partner for the next week. This song will
help to get me through the week.

Thanks!

Voice and guitar... a match made at mixposure and
macjams... destined for?

Bill, as usual but even more this is such a lovely guitar
performance. And Brandon, welcome to macjams. You
really sound great here. Your voice and delivery really
communicate the sentiment of the lyrics. Nice, very nice.

Cool song &mdash 08/14/05 - 09:23:09 AM
She's a good singer, and your guitar picking is tasteful as
always. ("dust in the wind" is a great song, isn't it?)

Eh, using the strings percussively is a good idea, but strings
have a slow attack, so in some places they sound out of sync
with your guitar. Maybe nudge them forward a couple of
milliseconds?
