Description:
Song note from thepeep:
I wanted this to be an encouraging song, just encouraging a friend of mine.
Liner notes from ejh(Producer/Engineer/Dad):
I came home from a trip to the music store last summer, and my wife said, "You'd better check out your son...He's been singing a song all afternoon..." He and I went into the studio area, and he sang while I held up my guitar tuner and determined what key was singing in, then tapped out the tempo on the old BR-8. Once I had determined what tempo he was singing at, and what the chord progression was, we set up the mic and recorded guitar and voice. After that, thepeep and I collaborated on what other instruments to add. Lyrics once again seemed to be improvised on the spot, although he had apparently been singing them all afternoon.
I continue to be proud of my son's ability to improvise lyrics, keep a beat, and come up with melodies...
We both hope folks enjoy listening to this.
Lyrics:
Hey Baby
Hey baby, try it now you will
Hey baby, do it all again
Hey baby, try it when you will again
Hey baby, do it all again
Hey baby, try it now you will
Hey baby, do it all again, oh yeah,
Do it again
Hey baby, try it now you will
Hey baby, do it all again,
Hey baby, try it now you will, oh yeah,
Hey baby
Hey baby, try it now you can
Hey baby, do it all again
Hey baby, try it when you will to see,
Hey baby
Hey baby, try in now again
Hey baby, do it all again
Hey baby, try it now, oh yeah, again
Hey baby, do it all you can
Hey baby, try it now you can
Hey baby, do it all again, oh yeah
Hey baby, do it all again
Hey baby, try it now you will
Hey baby, try it when you will to see,
Hey baby
Hey baby, try it when you will
Hey baby, do it all again
Hey baby, try it when you will to see,
Hey baby
Hey baby, try it when you will
Hey baby, start slowing down your energy
Slow down your energy
Get that, get that voice ready
Get that, voice totally
Ready for the greatest show, oh yeah
Hey baby, try it when you will
Hey baby, do it all again
Hey baby, try it when you will to see,
Hey baby
Hey baby, try it when you will
Hey baby, nine in a row
Hey baby, do it all for you would care
Hey baby, try it now you can
Hey baby, do it when you will
Hey baby, try it when you will to see
Hey baby, try it when you will
Hey baby, try it when you will
Hey baby, do it all again
Hey baby
Hey baby
Do it again
Do it again

I'm saving all your songs... &mdash 08/10/05 - 12:55:21 PM
...so that one day, when you're a famous musician, I'll be able to prove that I knew you when you were young.
This is very inspirational. I've been having some trouble with the new song I'm working on and I'm going to listen to "Hey Baby," when I need to get my voice ready totally for the greatest show.
I like your melody very much and the chicken shaker is great. I wish the chicken shaker was a real chicken, don't you? Your dad did a good job on the guitar, too. You can tell him I said so.
Great job, thepeep. [ Reply to This ]

I thought your comment was really nice. You may not read this at the exact
same time that we're writing it, but right over here, it's night. This is a really
good opportunity, right now, to check my comments, because I barely get any
time to reply to my fans, especially you. And you know that song called, um,
Blackberries that you posted? I think it's really good. Say, have you checked
out Dadai's page? I personally think that many of his songs are good. You
should even check out his little grandchild singing "Twinkle Twinkle." It's so
cute.
Sincerely,
thepeep

That was great. It is a very encouraging song. I like the way
you improvise words. This song just makes me happy.
Keep making music and sharing it with us, and we'll keep
listening and enjoying it. [ Reply to This ]

I'm listening to one of your songs right now, called Stars On My Ceiling. It
reminds me of a lot of things. I think that it's really nice. Have you checked out
the Mystery Macjammers slot? Right now it has a little boy with a funny hat. I bet
you would like it.

Hi Thepeep! I must say you've done a very charming piece
again! It swings really good! I am happy to be one of the first
to listen to and vote for your song!
PS. My son Felix, who play ukulele with me, have also
listened and was impressed. He is eight years old and asks
me to ask you how old you are. DS [ Reply to This ]

I thought your comment was good, and I'm seven, mostly eight...I'm going to
be eight August 17th...
Hello, Felix. By the way, you should learn English from your dad so we can
talk on the phone sometime....We should be friends, also. We're like the same
age. You're like one year older than me, or maybe less days. By the way, Felix,
you know that picture of you and your dad playing that Welcome Song. Well, I
thought you looked pretty good. Same with your dad. I think it's great that
you've listened to my song 'Hey Baby'. I do not think it's that great, because I
sounded horrible to me. And I think that the Welcome Song is pretty good. It
really is. If I listen to any other of your songs, I'm sure I'll like them. Especially
if they have ukulele in them. Anyways, if it's daytime for you, it's probably
nighttime for me. So I'll be going to bed and you'll be probably playing right
now, or doing something. I'm sure that you're a really nice boy. And I think
that I would like you. If you lived much closer, I bet that we'd have play dates,
probably. On your continent, do you have Bionicles? The reason I just asked
that question is, there are tons around here, and each new species is more
powerful than the old kind.
Sincerely,

Hi Thepeep!
Felix liked your idea of learning english, and we now have a project, Felix and
me:
We are going through your reply word for word. We are writing down every
word and I give him translation of every word. In this way he learns what you
have written in you own language.
So, if we continue like this for a couple of days I hope that Felix finally will be
able to understand everything in your letter.
But in just a few days I hope we will get far enough that he can start giving
you a reply to some of it.

Super &mdash 08/10/05 - 02:57:46 PM
I'm happy to see you make more music thepeep:) This is a super duper song with lyrics that make me wanna try over again, and not to give up just 'cause somethings doesn't go right at first.
Thanks for sharing your music with us. I'll be listening to the songs you put out here for sure:)
I actually also have a son that has his own macjams page. He is a bit older than you I guess, going 19 this year. Here is his page: http://www.macjams.com/artist/zteffen [ Reply to This ]

Did you know that I have met some people from Norway? When I took a
vacation on the Cape, I did. They knew how to speak Norwegian. Speaking of
'Cape", I live in a blue 'cape'; it's a house that's usually found in Cape Cod.
I thought your son's page was awesome. His song "Never Coming Back", I
thought that was cool. I think that your song that has the girl singing on it, I
thought that was awesome. If it's you playing the guitar, then you're doing a
really good job.

sounding than horse feet...really an excellent anthem to
never giving up...and no matter how old you get, thepeep,
you always have to remember--NEVER to give up!
thanks for reminding me of that!

Hey, Fran, the reason that "Like Horse-feet" sounds a little more childish is
because I used Raffi words and I was still six and I really liked Raffi. Ever heard
of him? And, by the way, why are you named after a pasta? And if you are
wondering why I'm named after a marshmallow candy, it's because I like them. I
do think the song is encouraging. You may think it sounds adultish; me, I'm not
on that side. The first time I met you, I thought you were cool. Plus, you have the
greatest hairstyle, or at least I think so.

thepeep....I hope you wont be too disappointed that i cut my hair off...I'm still
a nice guy tho...i just get more wind on my head! But i miss my long hair.
I named myself after pasta because i am italian, and that is my favorite food.
plus i thought jelly beans sounded dumb.

Thanks for listening, and I thought your song, "Justice Returned" was really cool.
My dad downloaded it. Pretty impressive for a fifteen year old. It reminded me of
battle music for Lord of the Rings. Ever heard of it? I thought that "Justice
Returned" was SO GOOD. Even my dad couldn't do that! Even us teamed up! And
guess what, I'm gonna post a new song called "Like Rockets To Go", and it's
gonna be like your song, with only music.

Thanks.... &mdash 08/10/05 - 05:06:52 PM
Funny how things happen. I have been feeling a
bit down today, struggling with some doubts about
how things are going in some areas of my life. I
won' bore you with the details. I got an email note
from your dad to check out your song, which of
course I wanted to do. From your last song, I
expected something original and something quite
good for your age. What I didn't expect was to get
lifted up and encouraged. Like it says in the Bible,
"out of the mouths of babes." Thanks Mr. Peep.
Again, your vocal timing and style are quite good,
along with a neat melody. Keep it up. And not
bad yourself, Dad.

Hi Dadai. I think that some of your songs are pretty impressive. And I've left
some comments to some of my fans, telling them about your great songs. I left
a comment on your new song, you know. See you later. I've gotta go get some
sleep.

This is a great song! My daughter, who's seven, asked me to
put this on a cd for her. I'll be happy to oblige.

Do you have a photo of your daughter? I sort of blushed when I heard it. SHe's
the exact same age as me. I think that it's excellent that my tune is on a CD. I
think that I might download some of your music onto a CD myself. Does your
daughter have her own page, 'cause this is basically my page, even though my
dad does all the typing. Does she make music? Thanks for downloading it. I
really think that's really great. I want to know: what's it like around where you
live?

Hey thepeep- Katie doesn't have her own page yet but maybe soon. She loves to
sing and I think soon we will record a song with her pretty voice on it. When we
do I'll try to find a nice picture of her to use.
We live in Maine- it gets pretty hot in the summer and very cold and snowy in
the winter. We're not too far from the ocean so sometimes we get some very big
storms... sometimes even hurricanes. [ Reply to This ]
Good Lyrics and Singing &mdash 08/11/05 - 04:47:21 AM
I will probably sing and hum this song at work today.
I look forward to hearing the song about zero gravity
basketball or anything else you come up with!

I think that's really great, but I'm not sure that it's really going to be one about
zero gravity basketball, it might be about something else. That was just a
theory. I hope I don't get you down about this. Do you have any recent posted
songs, because if you do, I would look forward to hearing them.

Excetional &mdash 08/11/05 - 10:29:39 AM
A little suggestive for my taste, but I liked it alot. I
likediked the simplicity of the melodic structure. I thought
that it had good symmetry. (Ask thepeep to explain what
this means EJH) I wasn't able to understand the words
towards the end, but somehow, talented people get away
with this and as well, the rythmic inflections carried it
through.
It is very pleasing to listen to, as I find myself listening for
a third time and then downloading it. Nobody here has
ever witnessed text of mine exclaiming that this has
happened before. I think that this means that this tune is
indeed, a pleasant one to listen to.
Congradulations Mr. Peep! You're doing quite well at this
music making stuff. I'm a little envious, because I've never
made it to the number three spot. I am happy for you
though.
Keep up the good work!
