Multi-generational &mdash 08/15/05 - 07:03:56 PM
I was sitting here, listening to this tune tapping my foot in
time to the music. My young daughter walked over, took the
headphones from my ears and placed them over hers. She
listened until the end of the song, unplugged the
headphones and asked me to start the song again so the rest
of the family could hear. So- thanks for giving my family a
few very enjoyable minutes of quality family time and
something to discuss.

Now that's a humdinger of a comment. Invite the children! Nothing like dinner
or oldtime music to bring the kids. Thanks for sharing that one.

just spotted your gem :) &mdash 08/15/05 - 07:56:51 PM
When I see your group name I think before even listening
that this is going to be fun. And when i hear the tune, my
prophesy comes true.

Love ya guys. You have the music that is like a hospital for
fun. It's like you can be kind of down and then when you
hear your magic you change listeners.

Please, please keep giving us these treats:)

I like that, a hospital for fun. Dr. Bluegrass. I think I've found my secret identity!
Thank you for looking forward to my tunes. A special thing. I will drum up some
more. You guys really keep me going here. (And to think a few months ago I
thought this computer thing was just a pain in the behind!)

yee-HAWWWW!!! &mdash 08/15/05 - 09:38:59 PM
This is my first experience with your music. Gawd, where
have I been? Under some rock, apparently. This is GREAT!

Your finger pickin' does Earl Scruggs proud, and a host of
others....obviously you've played together for quite some
time, because you've got such a tight band.

Great blend of the classic bluegrass instruments, generally
well-recorded here. What software/hardware did you use?

I would have liked to hear more "punch" on the lower end
of the mix on this (through my headphones anyway), but
this sounds pretty darned good!

This is real American music, thanks for posting! Keep 'em
coming.

P.S. Great song art, too.

yee-HAWWWW!!! &mdash 08/16/05 - 07:50:28 PM
Yep, there's a thinness to the sound, and a flatness, but most of us would like to
be thinner anyway, so. And I hear the trade off sections and we're still not as
tight as I'd like. Don't really practice together much any more, not like I'd like.
Trying to play more lawn parties. I love the sunshine. Thanks for the holler.

Pure joy. Love the way the banjo carries the tune and the
mandolin's syncopated chording. Great photo too! Smiles,
smiles, and more smiles.

Lovely. Did you do this at home on a Mac or PC or in a studio? It's impossible to tell from here.

I do agree with another comment that the bass part needs a
little boost, but great job!!

Hoo dawgies! &mdash 08/17/05 - 04:19:49 AM
Another fantabulous song from you guys! This is really
special and I'm so glad you found Macjams. It's so nice to
hear genuine American bluegrass on here. Love the
harmonies and that's quite a talented bunch of muscicians
you have there, too. Fiddle, banjo, the works. And as
always, wonderful lead vocals. Yee ha!

This has a great, cohesive feel. &mdash 08/17/05 - 09:38:03 PM
It feels all of a piece, and as has been noted, it's got the vibe
of a bunch of folks playing in a living room or on a porch
somewhere. Nicely done.

All right boys.... &mdash 08/18/05 - 08:03:13 PM
I missed this little love song when it came out the other
day. Touches my heart... nothing more loveable than an
old hound dog. And sometimes they just don't realize
how much we really love them... despite the competition.

I am infected with your bluegrass playing and I hope there
is no cure. I doubt there is.

Jack

"The Dillards live!" Musically tight as hell; and of course, the
lyrics are sheer "classic." Bravo. . . .

New Tricks &mdash 09/13/05 - 08:44:52 AM
It's good to hear a bunch'a old dogs can hang together for
so long and make such exceptionally good music.

The experience you've had really shows:

The chops are all there... great instrumental licks... strong
vocals... warm, well-blended harmonies... and a goodtime
vibe in your delivery.

In addition, your responses to posts here indicates a
sense of humor probably cultivated by onstage banter and
dealing with hecklers who may have swigged a wee bit too
much from a jug.

Hey! Y'all take requests? I'd like to hear you boys do "Papa
Wants to Fly His Kite... But Mama Won't Give Him No Tail."

:D Great stuff, guys!
