Description:
This song, "Come Down", is from a band I was in known as Separate Ways out of the San Francisco bay area. I sang/wrote/played lead guitar/produced etc. Joe Markert (Lead Vocals) & I were the main songwriters. Come Down was written by Joe. Andrew Alva played drums and Ralph Holmes played bass. We were overly blessed to have talented friends in the business and were able to con them into playing on our CD. Come Down features Charlie Gillingham, from the Counting Crows, on hammond B-3. He is a really tasty player, I think you will agree.

We had a blast making the CD, although shortly after we completed the record the engineer we were working with divorced his wife and decided to become a woman! What does that say about the experience he had with us? Hmmm.

Anywho, we had a great time making this record and playing it live. Unfortunately, as with most bands, the fragility of the band dynamic collapsed and we broke up shortly after this CD was recorded.

Anyway, please enjoy this cut and let me know what you think!

Thanks again!

P.S. If we were to get interest I am positive we would reform and maybe reach the potential I know we could have achieved. Peace.

fantastic!! &mdash 08/15/05 - 07:27:19 PM
I've got no words for how much I like this. I'd surely buy
your cd though. I'm a huge CC fan & Charlie's playing
really adds great texture to this one.

Thanks a ton for posting this!

AWESOME &mdash 08/15/05 - 07:34:48 PM
this song is great. It's like something that bands like Toad
the Wet sprocket, Gin Blossoms or soul asylum would write/
record - folky, pop-Rock. Really enjoyed this.

Didnt realise... &mdash 08/15/05 - 07:41:16 PM
..that Charlie from the Crows played on this lol (never read the description till
after submitting the comment). CC are one of my favourite bands. Had the
pleasure of saying them play Glasgow, Scotland last year. Was fantastic.

great, but... &mdash 08/16/05 - 01:11:07 AM
...was a Mac used at any point during the creation of this
great little tune?

great, but... &mdash 08/16/05 - 12:17:52 PM
Yes! We used Pro-Tools on a MAC. So most of the recording, except the basic tracks (drums, bass) wee recorded to hard disc.

Thanks

Good swingin rock &mdash 08/16/05 - 05:42:33 AM
This is some really good swinging rock! Beautiful guitar play
and well sung! You sound very professional. For the sake of
music I can agree with you that it was unfortunate that your
band split (but of course I understand that relations must
work for anything else to work).

Nice &mdash 08/16/05 - 06:56:27 AM
Solid work, instruments sound good. The voice is a little bit boring in my opinion. Not enough variations, not very virtously sung. But overall a good production, skilled playing and nice flavor.

Great song description too &mdash 08/16/05 - 09:01:38 AM
This is very entertaining, well done track. I really love your
description section too. The vocals seem just right for this
sort of southern rock. But I really like the organ textures,
more songs should have organ! Nice drumming too. Very
entertaining indeed.
