American Eyes

Description
I'm not sure what this is. Kinda feels like a protest song. Really just a play on words.
This will probably morph into something a little more fleshed out in the coming weeks, but I wanted to get it up here anyway.

Lyrics
you see a star in the sky
i track the orbit of a television satellite
you hear the morning rain give flowerbeds some sustenance,
i hear the needle scrape the data on a hard drive

and your white teeth hide the yellow incisors youll never show
your smiles hoisted by the cheekbones that are salty from the flow in the night
of american eyes

and we stayed up all night
the map was blue around the cities and the coastal lines
but then the shepherding the sound of the angels singing
the red it ran like a kitten in a rooster fight

behind the eyelashes a brown iris is covered by a lens
as a blue as new york city politics, oh noble citizen i hear the cries

A lot of great imagery
I really like what you have started here. There are some
interesting lyrics. I can't wait to hear it once you get it
fleshed out.

A lot of great imagery
thanks, jgurner.
my friend and I are going to work on fleshing it out a bit more, adding a bit
more energy to it, perhaps some chord changes, as well.

thanks for stopping by,

I'm not sure what it is either
But I think there's a lot of potential here. Might end up
something like Subterranean Homesick Blues,

I'm not sure what it is either

effects
The vocal effects are cool. But I can totally tell, or maybe it
just sounds like, you went through your built-in mic. Go
for a condensor mic man. It's a very cool song. it reminds
me of... ah I can't think of the name. Sorry. I like it. I'd go
grab the CD. Oh and a bit of a chord change or something
to switch it up would be cool. "I track the orbit of a
television satellite" I like that part. Love the whistle. It's
like ANDREW BIRD THAT'S WHO! lol

This is really great. Lyrics are fan-diddlytastic. I like the
vocal effect as well, going on the list!

Thanks ScooterDman

Nice Rhythm
Sounds good! I like the lyrics and the vocals the way they come across as Raw...cool!

Like the whistling at the end - good touch!

Keep it up!

I really love this. Really.
I absolutely adore this. This needs nothing else done to it - even if it was on an album full of well-polished tracks, this would be beautiful left as a laptop recording.

Really well done.

I really love this. Really.
Thanks, Matt. I did re-record this one a little cleaner and added some words, as
well. If you get a chance, check that one out.

Clever
Your on to something here. You need a few more verses. I like the way the guitar drones and the lo-fi nature of the vocals. Maybe that's the radio shack mic. I've bought lots of stuff from radio shack myself over the yaers. At first I thought it was too wordy, but with your phrasing it works. Like to hear it a bit more fleshed out. Nice tune.
