Description:
I wrote this depressed, angry, stressed, and sleepy. Extremely depressed and angry. Today I got my life taken away. I can no longer be a part of the flight program at my university, so I must change majors and well, revert back to freshman status. 2 years of life wasted. About 1/4 of credits are transferable to any other major in this or another university. YAY!
Anyway - I tell you this because it is reflected by a depressing beginning followed by something a bit heavier. This song is just pure expression.

that's too bad... tell me, why can't you be part of the flight
program?
This is one of your most beautiful pieces. The heavy vs
soft is very effective. [ Reply to This ]
aw man... &mdash 08/20/05 - 09:34:28 AM
Quite a few tiny things, mostly I believe the university is trying to protect
themselves, I have nothing medically wrong with me other than occasional
headaches, but more medical tests done than you could imagine. The reason in
medical.
Sorry to bring so much personal life here. I didn't mean to say so much in a song
description.
Thanks for the comments CJ.

Don't be sorry - you're really part of your music (and vice versa), and it makes
it so much more special to know what's behind the songs. [ Reply to This ]
nice tune... &mdash 08/20/05 - 07:36:49 PM

Almost Tribal Drums &mdash 08/21/05 - 01:57:41 PM
I really enjoy the tribal drums and ambient music in the
background. This song has a medatitive quality to it. It is
peaceful yet agressive at the same time. Almost like a love/
hate relationship. You can hear the inner strugle taking
place within the music. Nice! [ Reply to This ]
Almost Tribal Drums &mdash 08/21/05 - 05:37:13 PM
Yeah, thats what I pretty much intended it to be, something calm yet aggressive
somehow. I'm glad it came out that way.
Thanks for the comments.

Understandibly moody and emotional &mdash 08/21/05 - 10:42:46 PM
I can hear the emotional outlet in there, anger, sorrow,
darkness. Very expressive and a great outlet for what is
obviously a tough time for you. I'm sorry this has happened
to you. If it makes you feel any better, I was where you are in
the spring of 1987, facing the daunting task of having to find
a new major when my plans were suddenly wrecked. But it all
worked out for the best. And hopefully the same will happen
for you. I enjoyed the song and I wish you the best in
whatever you choose to do. [ Reply to This ]
Piano &mdash 08/22/05 - 02:56:15 AM
It would be way cool if that was all live instruments.
Especially the piano. But it's tight nonetheless. I agree
about the soft then heavy. You should check out Reason
and Live. They're killer programs with some cool effects.
Reason works great with protools too. All in all it's sweet.
It makes me want to take a long drive or something in a
fast car. [ Reply to This ]

Yeah this would be a really cool live performance - keyboardist, flute, violin,
bass, guitarists, drummer. I think about that stuff sometimes - live
performances. I just got a second keyboard and have them tiered on two levels,
which makes for some real cool stuff. It would be fun to be a keyboardist for a
group or something. I love real deep tense synths or strings that is then
exploded through by a whole orchestra like rock performance. Kinda where this
one came from in my mind also.
Thanks for the comments and welcome to macjams.

I really likey &mdash 10/14/05 - 11:08:24 PM
the way it builds up. Nice drums, totally moody, I like it. Just screaming for vocals. I like the way it progresses. Nice driving beat. Keep on playing you have a great sound. [ Reply to This ]

Yeah, exactly what I told Ben... song as beautiful as this screams for vocals. He's
giving me permission to give it a try.

What can be said? This is an incredible piece. Would love to hear a live
rendition of it. I know, I'm echoing previous posts, but wow... this is
the kind of music I look for and gets high play counts on my itunes/
ipod.
